DX3 sounds like they are getting lazy or rushing it to gold.
I have to disagree there. In fact, that's what confuses me the most. This games been in development for quite a while, and we probably won't see it until 2010. So, whatever decisions they are making it isn't about rushing, it's a conscious decision that they believe is best.
While I am now pretty certain this game will be crap, there are a couple things that I think will get a lot of flak from people on this thread today but that aren't really as big of a deal as they sound. The "cover" system just sounds like line-of-sight based stealth rather than creeping in shadows. Let's face it, stealth in the original wasn't that realistic.
As far as the auto-healing goes... hopefully that is just on a lower difficulty setting.
The one thing that causes me to still have a sliver of hope is that this isn't a low-budget rush-job like DX:IW. It will at least have a good deal of polish and production quality. Also, I'm hopeful it will have a reasonable amount of content. There is also the fact that they've grabbed the writer of the original story. Also it seems that the PC is their lead focus, since it was a PC gaming magazine that got the first dibs, and PC is the only platform currently announced.
Time will tell I guess...
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
