Dan, from Steam News...
Five Leading Modifications Mark Debut of Mods On Steam.
Valve today announced the availability of five leading Source MODs (game modifications built atop Valve's leading engine technology). The initial set of MODs offered via Steam are available free of charge for owners of any Source-based game.
To celebrate the launch of MODs on Steam and give gamers an easy entry into the world of Source MODs, Valve is offering Half-Life 2: Episode One for just $4.99. The original Steam MOD squad is comprised of: Age of Chivalry, D.I.P.R.I.P., Insurgency, Synergy, and Zombie Panic.
"Valve has been supporting the MOD community since the company's inception, offering updates to the SDK, holding MOD Expos and being the first to bring a MOD to retail with Counter-Strike in November 2000," said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. "The debut of these MODs on Steam marks the beginning of a new level of support for the MOD community by putting the leading MODs at the finger tips of over 15 million targeted gamers."
The first MOD squad is available now. Once installed, these MODs will appear in the Steam "My Games" list and the MODs will receive automatic updates just like other games on Steam. Also, these MODs now take advantage of Steamworks, providing stat tracking and tighter integration with the Steam community.

On a completely different topic, I booted my Windows PC and RDP'd into it from my Mac, noticed Steam had loaded, and had a bunch of games filed under "not installed" - Age of Chivalry, DIPRIP Warm Up, Insurgency, Synergy, Zombie Panie! Source - did I miss something, or is there some sort of free mod weekend thing going on? (Downloading Synergy as we speak...)

There might not be anything new there, but I can not get past that point as the game crashes there!!!
Yeah and I can't figure out what's causing your system to crash there, because I can't come up with anything in specific that'd cause that crash. I thought it might be the video of Sovereign taking off. Did you lower your graphical settings and/or your sound hardware acceleration?
I've played the PC version through 4 times and have had exactly 1 crash after a 10 hour session. It's rock stable for me...
I'd sort of frown at Vista 64 for being the likely culprit, but who knows.
I think you'd have better luck at getting help at the mass effect technical forums. Sorry man.

edit: Dagok, I'm of the impression that they do voting in Canada too. Pretty sure we are both referring to her specifically being able to vote in the US election as her residence(s) are there.
Seeing as the Canadian Prime Minister doesn't have as much impact on global relations as the President of the US does, not so worried about who she votes for in Canada.
Canadian elections are pretty much always decided before the Western provinces have even finish voting because of bullshit with how many House seats each province has. Basically people on the west coast in Canada tend to vote with which local politician they want in their area vs who they want as Prime Minister.

I find it more scary that people like Jessee Jackson are allowed to vote, or Pamela Anderson. While I'd find it even more scary if there was someone to say they weren't allowed to vote, it's certainly worrisome how significant the lunatic vote can be (especially in New Mexico): https://www.msu.edu/~sheppa28/elections.html

Bill lost it last night grilling Barney Franks. It was like the UFC of Interviews. It reminded me of his "we'll do it live" bit. Check it out! There's no way in hell I'll waste my time w/ Bill. Instead, I'll simply mention the name I belive Al Franken came up with for him...

| Ugh, Bill of course the same person who would blame the Democratic House worthless for being unable to to find a 2/3 veto-override majority. He's such a terrible person that if I saw him in person, I'd flat-out kill him, no questions asked. I'd take the nearest rock and repeatedly slam it down upon his skull, driving out the idiocy within, along with his meager reserves of brain matter. |
