You obviously exaggerating. 1500exp is the amount you would get for a PvE if you where around lvl 6. 8000 exp in a bg you would have to be about lvl 20+. I'm a level 10 War Priest, and I regularly get 6000-8000 exp per PvP scenario, and the quests at this level average about 1500-2000 exp, and while some of them are very easy, there is still an abundance of "kill 10 of these", that take awhile to complete, and don't compare to the exp I could be be making in PvP.

I'm loving it. And though it's not perfect it's damned fun. PvE is as good as any before it. Better than most. PQs add to that. But like everyone else has stated the PvP game is over the top. When your fighting to take a Keep or defending it and there are way over a hundred PCs & NPCs in the battle it's just tremendous fun.
There are lower level instances/dungeons in the cities also. Not sure how deep they are but I've seen them briefly before running for my life.
Has anyone noticed drops are better when grouping?
At one point during a PQ with a small Warband we were getting nice drops every dozen or so kills. And since then I haven't seen the items dropping so frequently. Yeah, a lot of the stuff is class/race specific but that is the nature of any MMO.
One of WAR's best achievements is that there is so much variety in their characters. They play so differently. Not just a different race with the same spells, buffs, and combat moves like other MMOs.
I'm very much looking forward to the add-on races/classes and areas. I plan on playing this on a regular basis for quite some time.
And if you think the low level RvR stuff is fun wait until you see the variety in the upper levels. Four tiers with three different types of RvR instances plus the huge RvR battlefield all over the game-world.
This game is not for the solo minded player though it still can be fun for those who enjoy mostly solo game-play. What I mean is WAR shines when you're playing RvR/PvP in a group. The larger the better...

You know my main beef? How stratified the gear is. Most of the gear in the game can only be used by ONE (I repeat, ONE) class. What's up with that? Lazy designers? The game is practically begging me to make alts for all the gear I'm getting and can't use on my main.

You guys do know WAR does have instances right? When you hit level 25, try doing Gunbad. It's a ton of fun and when you're doing it, remember it's only a level 25 dungeon. Plus there are a bunch of level 40 instances, and the endgame city raids are also very PvE oriented also. I find the instances much more fun than WoW ones. And I think that PvE content is much easier to add later than a good PvP system. PvP system will keep people playing and keep the game fresh, and give them time to come out with new PvE dungeons. I'm sure they'll be adding more endgame dungeons in the coming months.

Why would I do a quest that takes 10 minutes and yields 1500 exp, when I could do a PvP scenario that takes 10 minutes and yields 8000 or more exp, not to mention realm points.
You obviously exaggerating. 1500exp is the amount you would get for a PvE if you where around lvl 6. 8000 exp in a bg you would have to be about lvl 20+.
So you either have not played the game very much or at all or you are delutional.

WAR needs dungeons...WoW did pretty good on instances, the only problem was thats all it did good, and you ran them over and over...
WAR in contrast has more variety, but it lacks the instances. PQ's are noteworthy, but the general PvE content in WAR is lackluster exp wise. Why would I do a quest that takes 10 minutes and yields 1500 exp, when I could do a PvP scenario that takes 10 minutes and yields 8000 or more exp, not to mention realm points.

I'm having a blast but one cavet: Do not except to enjoy this just for the PVE aspect. PVE is only in the game for something to do during PVP downtime. PQs are a load of fun, yes, but by themselves it wont sustain enjoyment.

I read that WAR ist the first game to get rid of grinding. True? Just about as true as cold fusion being perfected last week by a group of Somali pirates. There will always be some form of grind. However, Warhammer has a very limited and shallow PvE game that isn't required to get into the PvP aspect. So in a limited sense, yes, the PvE grind is gone if you prefer to just PvP.
The 25 years of Warhammer lore and history definitely makes the world very rich. A little too rich, its a contradictory clusterfuck if you really look into it. Too many chefs in the kitchen there. This comment was edited on Oct 2, 14:44. |

I like the PvE story line (especially the green skins lol) and the tomb of knowledge keeps me exploring the world. The AI of the NPCs are very rudimentary so it keeps the PvE from being exceptional.

I dunno, I actually like the PvE aspects of WAR, the public quests are especially fun. Of course, it cant hold a candle to the PvP scenarios, which are a total blast. I am traditionally PvE type player, but this is the first game where I am genuinely enjoying the PvP. I'm only level 9 atm, but I'm looking forward to the next tier and the scenarios contained there in! |

Grinding will likely be at the core of every MMO. In WAR, you're grinding through PVP (which WoW also forces you to do if you want certain gear, etc...). They need various 'grinds' to act as time sinks so you continue to play (pay).
What WAR supposedly eliminated is PvE. I think they achieved this in 2 ways: 1) The PvE that does exist in the game is disgustingly horrid and 2) They offer you a means of leveling through PVP.

Beta didn't impress me much, and I was kind of down about the game, but it's got me hooked now big time.
Lich King looks good for WoW, and I was looking forward to it, but I don't even know that I'll bother now. I haven't missed it at all since WAR went live, which has really surprised me.

Sooo..is this a server side patch only or do the EU players get the patch later because I didn't see any patching when starting up today.
Also chiming in to say this is the best fun I've had with an online game since...well...ever |
