GTA 4 PC Specs

The Games for Windows Website now offers recommended system requirements for the upcoming PC edition of Grand Theft Auto IV, which seem pretty modest considering the promise of higher-resolution graphics. The specs call for Windows XP SP2, a dual core CPU (Intel Pentium D or better), 2 GB of RAM, 18GB of free hard disk space, a dual-layer DVD drive, and a 512MB Direct3D 10 compatible video card or Direct3D 9 card compatible "with Shader." Where have you been? I didn't deny myself GTA4, I played it a year ago. On a console.

Boy don't we have a sense of exaggeration? The game was released 5 months ago. 5. Not even close to a year, not even half a year. April 28th 2008.

Because it's a console game. PC and console games are not interchangeable. They never have been.

Again, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it but it won't stop the rest of us from playing GOOD ports from other platforms.

When PC games fail to exist because, as you claim, everything will be "multi-platform", then I can safely stop playing PC games because they won't be worth playing.

The console vs. PC war has been going on for a long time, and pretending it doesn't exist doesn't change the fact.

Flair for the dramatic much? War, really? There have been console games and PC games co-existing for the past 20 years. I think we'll all manage just fine!

"Port" has never been a positive connotation associated with *any* game. It's trying to shove a square block in a round hole.

The saying is square peg, round hole by the way. As for "port", there are plenty of good "ports" for both platforms but there seems to be no point in naming any because you'll just say they sucked or something.

You act like the rest of us are causing some irreparable harm to PC gaming by GASP, buying a PC game we want to play! Oh noes, it was made for a console first!!!!

Get a grip man, this isn't life or death and it's certainly not "war". If people want to play a fun game that was well made, let them, who cares what platform had it first or who made it or whatever your bizarre choice seems to dictate.
