WAR Head Start Timing Tweaked

Mythic Entertainment announces details on the head start program for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, which will allow preorder customers to get started progressing through Mythic's MMORPG in advance of its full launch on September 18. Those who preorder the Collector's Edition will gain access on September 14 as expected, with the festivities getting underway at 7:00 am EDT. The deal for preorder customers of the standard edition is slightly different than what we'd heard, however, as they will not get to start playing on the 15th, as had been reported (story), but will gain access on Tuesday, September 16, likewise at 7:00 am EDT.

I canceled my preorder, game is a has-been that I felt like I had been playing for years already. The genre doesn't need another crappy turn based EQ clone, especially one that mirrors WoW in almost every way. Wait, what game have you been playing? Because it certainly isn't the WAR I have been. Every fantasy MMO has had the tank/healer/dps model. Heck, most of the sci-fi ones have had it as well. It's a natural progression of a group based model. Apart from that, not sure I see a lot of similarities really. I did at first, but as I got into things, seemed a lot of my initial assumptions didn't hold up. Tell me Fion, in what way WAR mirrors WoW? tell me! make a list or something It has Dwarves and it's obvious the Warhammer universe copied off the Warcraft universe. rolls eyes

I don't really see the problem here. They award those who put cash forward for the title with two days head start on store sales and those who shelve out the extra cash for the Collector's Edition get a four day go ahead over store sales. It's just like any other system in this case. You pay more and you'll get certain priority bumps. If the people who just preordered the regular edition go crying home about it than Mythic should cancel their preorder and make them wait for a store sale. That's just because I can be a dick though.
