Been playing X-Com since it got re-released on Steam, and that's from 1994 - so 14 years old.
Still a great game, apart from the 320 x 240 resolution and crappy interface..

Someone else here mentioned Action Quake 2, a Quake 2 mod - also great, my favourite weapon balance of any FPS. The starting pistol kicks arse. And in round based team mode, you pick your weapon (you don't buy it) so they are all good, it just comes down to which one suits your style.
