Note to self (and warning to others):
When trying to be a rockstar and have a day packed with rockstar style drinking, GH2, GH3, and RB with friends.....it is best not to consume a half litre of Bushmills and expect to play....AT ALL!
Stick to beers.
Otherwise, bodies will be sore the next day, furniture will break, game scores will drop, you will lose your fan base, easy songs become impossible, and you will go to bed mega early.
Just saying....
You got a great body, but your record collection sucks....

| If they're not backwards compatible hopefully the new RB drumset is a large leap over the current trash. I'd be willing to pay extra for a good one. |

I would hope that we'd be seeing a reduction in price for the original RB then. I've been wanting to pick this up, but maybe I'll wait until September since it sounds like the guitar from the original is teh suck.
According to the interview they've been listening to the fans and fixed many of the problems they are bitching about. Hopefully at that point I'll be able to pick the original RB up for cheap (and use my GHII guitar for a base line).
The Guitar hero drumset looks killer...competition is a good thing. I prefer how Rock band plays over GH, I'll prolly end up buying the GHWT drums and playing Rock Band 2 with them. I would hold off until we see what RB2 has on the docket; I'm sure they're going to bring out something similar to GHWT or whatever Konami's Rock-Mania game is (the name escapes me).

What, exactly, are the differences?
My girlfriend is interested in Rock Band, but decided to get Guitar Hero 3 first as a way to ease into things and to save some money.
One of her sisters has Rock Band and both she and her boyfriend say our guitar (from GH3) is much better, particularly for the strumming aspect.
Thinking we'll probably wait for RB2 now,

I have 3 guitars, and the GH2 guitar is the suck. The second button sticks or doesn't register. What a waste.
My other 2 guitars work great. I actually prefer the Rock Band Guitar with the buttons closer to the body of the guitar.

Hopefully the fucking strummer doesn't suck this time, or I'll be sticking with the GH2 controller (again).

The guitar looks functionally identical to the current one. Hopefully there is more to it, otherwise the new GH guitar looks far superior.
Also, hopefully they managed to make a guitar that doesn't break after 2 hours of use.
