Pretty disgusting, yeah. So par for the course for marketers, really.

I'd seen that link but hadn't read it, until I saw your post. I figured that someone did it as a (poor) joke. But Activision did that?!?

Goddamn, they suck...

I think the Hendrix statue thing is in incredibly bad taste, and I will encourage people to not buy the Guitar Hero thing because of it.

But doesnt that defeat one of the purposes of modern supercomputers? I thought the biggest problem these days was heat dissipation and power consumption not raw processing power. I suppose if you have unlimited budgets then it wont matter.

I don't think you'll find a shortage of people that disagree with you on that one. There's a reason Ocarina of Time is considered one of the best games ever made... even in the midst of the "best game ever?" hype around GTA IV recently it was the game people were asking if it beat.

OOT will be the most important game on consoles until there's something else to use as a yardstick to define what the best of gaming is, and for a lot of people it's still the one to beat.

sorry but even zelda is pretty old hat... the only n64 game that matters today is mario64.. which is still one of the best platformers ever.
