They aren't doing this because of some moral code they live by
Actually I think it partly is. I saw an interview (I think it was on Bonus Round) where they had an editor on from EGM, and one of the discussions was regarding the whole Gamestop fiasco. He said EGM receives "offers" all the time that they simply will not do as it would break their integrity.
I'm sure if they felt they could release the "review" as they want it, without burning a bridge with Konami they would.
So when they could still release their review minus the "imposed limitations" and they choose not to, while other game rags cater to the limitations...all I can do is give EGM an applause.
