PC Street Fighter IV

Next Generation reports an edition of Street Fighter IV for the PC is in the works, in spite of the PC not being considered the ideal platform for fighting games. They say the game will be released "this fiscal year," for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Additionally, they point out the Street Fighter Website has a countdown timer, which reads two day and fifteen plus hours at this point, so it's possible that another revelation related to the franchise will be made before the end of this week.

Damn I had fun with MK3, the coolest thing about it was that it 1 vs 1 could be played on a single PC. (Using a keyboard) I would have a friend over, we would get high on some quality weed and kick the shit out of each other on MK3 Tournament mode, man those were the days!!!

P.S. The keyboard can be the best fighting controller ever, if the game is designed to support it!

It doesn't matter, at this point. The local pc elitists have shown up and shit all over everything, just like they always do. Nothing is ever good enough for them

the guy just proved you wrong and you claim that he is a troll and then an elitist? arcade pc controllers are available at amazon and directly from the manufacturer in california.

Nothing is ever good enough for them (but, they'll be happy to steal it anyway, and then bitch that it wasn't up to their standards after playing it for hours and hours), and they wonder why devs are fleeing to consoles in droves. It's just another day at Blue's News.

I have yet to see anyone here shit on SF4.

How exactly does that differ any from a console, nin? Seems like much ado about nothing.

What's funny is that the stick you posted actually works on PCs flawlessly, nin.

I never said it didn't. I said you don't walk into a store and find those around here...and that if you really want to play a fighting game on the PC, thatís the kind to get, with an arcade type stick, instead of a D pad.

As long as the PC port is done well enough and you have a decent controller, fighting games on the PC is just fine.

I used to play several fighting games on the PC a long time ago with my Sidewinder and it was good. Even better now with my xbox 360 controller.

I play the arcade MAME versions of Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3 all the time. I also have a few of the PC ports of various MK games. Mortal Kombat 4 for the PC was the best home port. It was closer to the arcade than any of the consoles they ported to and as long as you had a good controller it was great.

I've been playing MK1 to 4 on PC and arcade emulators (especially Street Fighter Alpha 3 in coop mode) for years only by using my Keyboard. The only issue I have in fighting games is the 180-360 degrees moves. I'm expecting SF4 to be great on PC.

It was disappointing that fighting games never took off on PC. Rise Of The Robots was a good attempt graphically but the gameplay was a bit weak. I enjoyed Mortal Kombat 3 on PC, though it never took off. I gave up hoping for PC fighting games about 10yrs ago and just accepted they would remain on consoles.

Personally I'm happy to see SFIV making its way to PC. Controls are still going to be the issue but if the game is good I'd happily buy an X360 controller. I must admit I'm surprised at this announcement, though.

Radioshack sells(sold?) a PS2 Controller->USB adapter for ~$15.
I picked up four a couple years ago.
They rock and you can get force feedback(something PC games don't use anymore)

They do rock. I have one myself. But don't tell Dmitri - he's in a fragile state right now, and might just pee on your leg.

Sf4 is 3d im sad to say.

The new capcom vs game is 2d though.

And you really should try sf3 on mame, I would say it's the best fighting game ever made, even taking sf2 into account.

If it's going to be 2D (and please god, let it not be 3D), I think it ought to work out fine on the PC. Frame rate shouldn't be a problem. Going to need some gamepads though.

Looking forward to it. Of course if I had a console, I'd probably buy that version instead.

I never played Street Fighter 3, but the amount of time I spent at the arcade playing Street Fighter 2 is absurd.

I don't remember seeing those locally, and I don't know gamers who import fighting sticks for the PC.

Right, because personal experience is always indicative of universal fact...
