Out of the Blue

Some shouting last weekend lead to some slight hoarseness in my voice, and a little superficial research suggests that this apparently called Laryngitis just like voice loss caused by colds and such. The best treatment for my condition is said to be not to use my voice for a while, which would clear things up in a matter of days, so anyone who knows me and my verbose nature will understand why I now fear this may never go away.

My personal guess would be a majority of the time the frequency is high to begin with and it lowers over time.

I guess my point earlier was that the driving factor for frequency is probably age, not as much marriage status. However, age and marriage status are correlated, so it's easy to mix up the causation.

Also, the pill is known to decrease desire, which may also explain why there is a reported uptick in desire for women in their 40's, when many stop taking it due to other more permanent birth control measures.

It has also jumped to the top 6 on Steam Top Sellers list.

And the funny thing is - it isn't that good. heh.

Disagree entirely. But thats all good. The story was dumb, as were all the cut-scenes, but the gameplay was perfect, excellent level design, lots of secrets that are worth finding, the sounds are really good and the graphics still look great even 4 years later.

I've played through it 2 or 3 times now, and was considering going at it again on my tv.

I miss straight FPS shooters, light on the story, very few interruptions, tons of enemies and heavy on the action...when was the last time we got something like that?

The key to solving the "reduced sex after marriage" problem -- marry a nympho. Good buddy of mine did that -- five years later he claims she hasn't slowed down yet. Obviously, I have no proof so take it with a grain of salt. But I believe him...

Obviously, it's a very individual thing. I'm sure there are marriages that go both ways. My personal guess would be a majority of the time the frequency is high to begin with and it lowers over time. *shrug* Personally, I could never get married. I enjoy my time alone WAY too much. And I'm far to selfish to give that up.

Poor Batman, he's just speaking from his own experience.

Just like all other aspects of a relationship, physical intimacy is something that you have to work on. Sure, the frequency changes as you go through life, but do you really think you'll be picking up lots of women when you're 40+ and hitting the bar scene? The average guy isn't.

This is one of the surveys that I'm referring to:
http://www.webmd.com/sex/news/20061031/world-sex-survey-reveals-surprises
Note the second bullet on the list of major findings.

There are other surveys (specifically focused on industrialized nations, if that's your concern) that have been conducted that also reaffirm this finding.

Here you go, from Durex:
http://marriage.about.com/cs/sexualstatistics/a/sexstatistics.htm
It's almost 2:1 for married vs. single.

There is a reason why everyone gives the groom a hard time on his wedding day - because they all know he won't see any more tail. (or it is greatly diminished exponentially.)

horse shit, it's just the same tail over and over and over and over again. and if your significant other isn't into sexual exploration than you just eventually wont *want* to have sex with each other.

n terms of physical intimacy frequency, surveys have also shown that you have a much higher frequency if you are married than if you have to try to go out and meet someone at a bar all the time.

Obviously you don't have much real life research of your own! And not sure what "research" you are looking at - but it is bunk.

There is a reason why everyone gives the groom a hard time on his wedding day - because they all know he won't see any more tail. (or it is greatly diminished exponentially.) Women are smarter than you think, know how to manipulate men to get what they want, and are damn good at it. We (men) are just dumb enough to fall for the BS....because...well, they are hot, and we like their bewbs.

You are naive if you think a divorce will save you money. It will cost you far, far more than you ever think you will save.

A recent study showed that a great predictor of a lasting marriage is how nice/mean a couple was to each other when they fought. So if you haven't learned on how to argue with your spouse, you should look into it. There are some basic ground rules that you can start on.

Because while it may seem that there are other fish in the sea, if you don't know how to maintain a relationship, those will fail also. And being alone will get depressing.

In terms of physical intimacy frequency, surveys have also shown that you have a much higher frequency if you are married than if you have to try to go out and meet someone at a bar all the time.

As long as that was the only tip he gave her. <rimshot>

Yea she got a good tip just like the last time she waited on me. What surprised me was that she did remember me and remembered what I drank. I think that played a part in being a dufus and leaving that note. You know, reading more into that than there was. It was still fun! Best damn pours I have ever had at a bar!

Batz why'd you have to say that

It took me long enough to break that habit without seeing a post like that in OotB. Now I'm going to be tempted to try it out and the cycle will begin yet again.
