I bought Stalker after i pirated it, same with Sins of a Solar Empire as well as CoD4. Mainly because all of the above games had no previous games out, so it would have been all up to be to take the risk on buying into a new I.P.
Best Buy, Wal Mart, Gamespot all deny you the RIGHT to return a product unless it has a defect. So why should I blindly take a $49.99 risk on a game that has no demo out?
I take it upon myself to try before I buy, and buy I will if I keep playing the game and find quality in it.
The last game I got duped by was Gothic 3 based on the stellar Gothic 1 and 2. I got fucked on that one.
So you folks that blindly state piracy is bad are fools. I don't promote piracy, i merely say there is a need for it and that it can work for the industry as in my case. Others won't buy anything ever.
oh and also for piracy. In my line of business, computer administration, I am supposed to know everything from all flavors of windows, veritas, symantec, citrix, Vmware. If i were to pay for all those softwares guess what? I would be a million dollars in debt!
So how am I supposed to learn say, Backup Exec 11 which starts at $2500 with all the agents?
You guys remind me of Chuck Osborne from PCGamer. A complete douche that always see's piracy as bad and can never fully back it up since he gets all his games for free AND can't byte the hand that feeds him. Sell out.
