Wasn't Savage released under a publisher, and thus would've had their hands tied? Honest question on that one, I don't know. It was released under an indie publisher that was owned by the same company as S2 Games. It was basically self-published.

Why isn't this more popular? |

Hey
I've been gaming for such a long time and I honestly believe this is a great game, a little rough around the edges (putting it politely). My question is why isn't it more popular its easily better than the current crap out there. I think its due to the game being more complex than say counter shite and the heavily dumbed down team fortress 2, people these days want easy to play games with no effort required which is sad as this game really deserves more. No one can really complain about this game as its cheap, you get a free trial and the developers actually listen to their fans. I just wish there way some way to make it more popular, steam perhaps?

You mean they had their fans in mind when they abandoned Savage after just a few patches? Wasn't Savage released under a publisher, and thus would've had their hands tied? Honest question on that one, I don't know.

I totally agree with Atoth. This company, much like Stardock, I can unequivocally support. They always have their fans in mind, and in return, I always enjoy plopping down my cash for their games. You mean they had their fans in mind when they abandoned Savage after just a few patches?

I'd say alittle less then half of the free content patch contains things that they said would be in for release. That being the VOIP, clan system, and through no fault of their own the delayed Linux client (blame uttar).. The rest is exactly that, free content added by request of the community or S2 themselves to better the game. This won't be the last free content patch either as they have set aside atleast 10 more months of work. 5 free hours of Demo play online to try it for yourself, it's not exactly like they are trying to pull a fast one on anyone..

This "content patch" contains things that they said would be in for release.
So basically, the game that has not yet been finished MAY be feature complete after this patch.
