I'm as hard-core as they come, at 37 I've played games since Atari 2600 religiously, hell, I even bought a 3DO the day it came out. I've went from console gamer [strictly] to a PC gamer in the 90's [strictly] and now back to 95% console only play. I never hardly even touched a console in the 90's. PC was where it was at, where all the exciting new stuff was coming out, where online was. It was the total package.
They are simply calling it as it is, as I see it. Anyone arguing otherwise probably has a vested interest or is so close minded to anything other than their norm would not even give consoles a fair shake.
It's true, in the 90's, PC games reigned supreme, but with the advent of newer technologies and the push to online play on consoles, and the fact that console games now actually do FPS's justice, there is simply nothing alarming standing out on the PC besides for Blizzard titles. Great companies like Bungie, who used to be PC/Mac only are now on consoles, not to mention Epic, id Software, Ubisoft and tons of others there just aren't enough PC "must have" exclusives for me to spend the amount of money and time keeping my PC up to date.

To be honest, I'll be glad when console become hybrid PC's and allow for keyboard/mouse and can hook up to monitor's. Granted the 360 has VGA out and the PS3 has keyboard/mouse, but neither do them both and there's not enough acceptance yet. My hope is PC gamers will get all the options they want from a console soon, such as the aforementioned stuff, and just completely come over. I honestly like that idea. I'd hook a console up to my PC monitor with the keyboard/mouse for FPS and RPG's etc. and another to my home entertainment system for sports, racers, action titles.
