Sims 3 Info Soon

TheSims3.com is online, offering a preliminary home to the not-yet-announced next installment in the lifestyle simulation series (thanks Tiscali Games). That unannounced part may be rectified soon enough, as the teaser site says "More Information Coming Soon*!" The footnote connected to that asterisk provides the date when this info can presumably be expected: March 19, 2008.

You forgot "almost guaranteed success".

Not that I like it either...

Why is this a bad thing again?

Because franchise milking promotes complacency, lack of innovation and sloth?

Oh god, make the horror stop!

IS there a work modeler, so you can do your Sims work in a cubicle?

Sooo... people that love The Sims get to play a new game, while people who don't like it still won't be playing it. One group wins, the other is oblivious.

Why is this a bad thing again?

Sims 2 Castaway Stories on the PC is buggy as old hell and still no patch. Errr, my kid plays it.

Christ please no. The only reason why sims2 is still in our chart at work is because EA pay our company a stupid amount of money to put it there. I sell what, maybe one a week if im lucky - seriously, no need for a sims 3 after bringing out 6 trillion expansion packs. what the hell is left to do.

I know its not trendy among the hardcore, but the game clearly makes a lot of people happy.

American Idol and Jackass also make a lot of people happy. That doesn't make them any less retarded.

I own the Sims and Sims 2 but I don't have any of the expansion packs. They're fun games for a few weeks until you realize that they are a job. Just like MMO's.

how is this different from world of warcraft? the players of that game pay for an expansion effectively every 3 months, although the difference is, they don't get as much new content for their money, and no option to stick with the game as is, for no extra cash.

The sims is a very popular game, more popular than COD 4 or Crysis or Bioshock. I know its not trendy among the hardcore, but the game clearly makes a lot of people happy.

They need to merge The Sims with RapeLay to add a new level of depth to the gameplay.

Finally! The dozens of expansion packs for Sims 2 just weren't enough for me. I hope this sequel simulates drainage failures so my toilet can overflow and force my Sim to call a plumber to come in and fix it at exorbitant costs.

I guess these people don't mind paying for the same content over and over again... there won't be pets, and here they come in an expansion, just like last time!

They must have run out of ideas for expansion packs. This time they'll have to leave out more content to drag it out longer.
