So essentially what Toshiba said is:

"Hey! We haven't cancelled it! We aren't cancelling it until at least Thursday. Give us some time to write a press release will ya?!"

OK, so lets assume Toshiba is still planning on manufacturing HD DVD players for the foreseeable future. Why would anyone even consider buying one at this point? Does anybody honestly believe that HD DVD still has a chance at winning the format war?
