Did you try enabling windows firewall and or UAC? I have had games flake out when certain windows services are disabled. It you're not sure what to turn on/off, I would recommend:
Start->Run-> services.msc
Then note which are disabled, enable them and start them all. After your done then disable the ones you had disables and reboot (to stop the rest of the services that you temporally started).
This has cleared up allot of install problems I have had with Vista/XP. Also be sure to install with administrator rights.

I get the same message except the filename is different. At this point the patch was only partially applied. I attempted to run the patch before I ran the game under the 'new' cards, though, and running the game didn't allow me to patch. I still got the same message. The only thing changed since I installed Crysis was I upgraded my video cards with drivers and I moved the entire file structure to a faster hard drive and adjusted all registry settings.
With this in mind, I uninstalled and reinstalled Crysis and immediately installed the patch. This time the patch worked, but as some other users reported, it was very SLOW to install, but it did install.
My thought is that my having moved the install caused the issue, but figured I needed to bring up the video cards, just in case.

Crysis Patch |

Well I went ahead and applied the patch, and the game runs much smoother. I didnt run FRAPS yet but I am guessing a 25% boost in framerate, running in DX10. More importantly, no crashes at the 1 hour mark, and no gigantic memory leak like before. Yay!
I did not experience the install issues some of you are having, although it did take an unreasonably long time to install.

I renamed the videos back, but still same. I didn't use any mods and noDVD patches. I don't think tweaks in cfg (e.g., disable motion blur) will affect this? |

I was enjoying the game and well into it until I installed this patch, now all my previous saved games are borked and I had to start over. They would load and I could play but none of the enemies had any weapons and would just run around, I also couldn't complete any objectives so I was stuck. Not that I mind starting over, it's a great game and looks beautiful..just a heads up with my experience from this patch.

LOL @ the Crysis haters. If this game isn't fun for you, stop playing video games. Or at least, stop being so pathetic that you bring yourself to post in every Crysis-related thread. Defensive much? I don't see anyone in this thread that have posted in every crysis-related thread.

Sweet, this patch made DX10 perform better than DX9 when playing High details under both! Very High is still of course out of my reach, but I don't particularly care.

Glad to have this patch of hopefully several significant patches. Downloading now. Just want to say something that no reviewer mentioned about this game and that is that while the regular deathmatch mode is only deathmatch, it is, IMO, the best vanilla deathmatch experience of any game in recent years. The game does need patching on many buggy issues.

On my first play through when you have to take over the docks and blow up the ship I had 1 Helicopter basically play Space Shuttle and take off towards orbit. Thankfully I found enough rocket launchers and was able to destroy it, but it took around 20 mins.

On GPU test, I got before the patch (1680 by 1050, DX10 High)
12.9 fps (driver 169.09) 14.85 fps (driver 169.25)
after patch
16.96 fps (driver 169.25)
I got the error when installing the patch but just went back and replaced the intro movies, and 1.1 installed fine.

From what I've read up to now, vista DX 10 is getting biggest performance boost. People are talking about 10fps increase.
As for XP or DX 9 under vista...users are supposed to get better image quality, less slow downs & stuttering but the fps increase might be minimal.

I had the same problem with the error, and the patch not loading. I went into the Crysis folder and took out all of the modded maps that I had put in, and I put the trailer movies back into their correct folders.
and what do you know, no more error and the patch updated the game.

apparently this patch disables the ragdoll mod that some of you may have installed, too. the mod that allows you to manipulate ragdolls after death. fucking paranoid pricks.
