Out of the Blue

Nothing like being awakened with the news that there's a vomit situation that requires your attention. That's what I met with this morning, being the designated clean-up squad for doggie-related messes. Good times.

Presumably this weekend will be the end of the slow flow of news caused by the holiday season. I may take advantage of the quiet to goof off later, though if I do, I will check in to make sure we're on top of any major developments.

Rudely Awakened Links! Thanks Ant and Mike Martinez.

I dreamt of Radiohead, Team Fortress 2, and a bizarre resident-evil like town where the townsfolk transformed into flesh-crazed maniacs courtesy some airborne virus.

Wild night.

32. Window Washer Falls 47 Stories Jan 5, 2008, 09:57 Hump

Rosario Moreno said she knows this much for sure: His days as a window washer are over. "I told him, 'You're not going back to work there,"' she said.

I don't think anyone in that family will ever have to work again after the settlement they'll be getting from the property owners' insurance.

The only games in the GTA series I've played is GTA: San Andreas, and the demo to the original GTA. The GTA package is tempting, I'd like to play GTA III and VC.

I didn't like Max Payne or really care for any of the other games that are in the R* package.

I've never played any of the VC games. One of those series' that I always meant to try, but never got around to. I don't think I've even seen actual gameplay outside of tv commercials, just parodies of gameplay. I'm not even sure I know what the point of them are!

Mostly to cause havoc. Think of a Midtown Madness(oh how I loved that game) combined with some kind of shitty 3rd person shooter.

Yep, time to get back to Vice City...

That is an awesome deal....I already have them all for either PC or PS2.....

Missing a couple though...VCS and LCS, if it had those 2, it would be a no brainer...might do it just to have them all in one place though!

WTF is this Foxy women ad by UGO? It's so awesome I had to click on it but it says these women are into video games?! BULLSHIT there is no fucking way. This must be made-up. It says this one smoking hot chick made references to fucking BALDUR'S GATE. _NO_ woman has ever played Baldur's Gate that looks like that. There is just no fucking way. I'm throwing down my bullshit flag right now

At the risk of being shouted down, I've never really cared for the Civ series...with the exception of XCom and Silent Storm, I prefer real time stuff...
I'm just the opposite, I can't get into the real time "strategy" games. I personally don't find much strategy in them, it's more action/reaction than strategy, where with turn based play like Civ, strategy does come into play because you have to plan ahead and try to predict what your opponent is going to do several moves ahead.

It's not a tumor.

I got to work at about 6:15 this morning and proceeded to endure about 6 power blackouts in about 50 minutes. Then it went off for good at 7:15. I left an hour later and the wind had really picked up. According to weather.com, we were expected to see gusts of 55-65 mph, with local gusts up to 75. About 3 inches of rain expected today and tomorrow. More rain after that but probably lesser amounts.

Power was off at home when I got back and just came on a few minutes ago....

Peggle was my crack. I was playing the HL-2 version demo and had a blast. For whatever reason I was being priced $10 USD while my brother was getting priced around $40 USD.

Anyway, great fun.

While I do like that one (forgot about it) I'm really interested in Sins of a Solar Empire, despite it's dumb name.

Same here. Stardock is going to make me their bitch this year.
