Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Patch

A new patch for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare modernizes Infinity Ward's military shooter sequel to version 1.3. The patch is available on the Infinity Ward Website, and word is: "This patch addresses the issue reported by community member Uzi Kidding which now catches some files bypassing the pure client test. In addition this update will set properties so that Anti-lag is always enabled upon map loads, an optimization for Sniper Rifle accuracy at certain distances, as well a fix so text chat between rounds of multiplayer will no longer cut out at the end. The 1.3 patch will also include all previous fixes from previous patches." The download is mirrored on ActionTrip, AtomicGamer, FileFront, FileShack, Games32, Gameguru Mania, Gamer's Hell, The Patches Scrolls, and PixelRage.

Jackson, get me some toilet paper! JACKSON!!

I thought CoD4 single-player was pretty run of the mill as well, but I have to say that SGT Jackson and the end of Act I was probably the only genuine surprise in a video game this year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's still no way to cancel out of joining a server once you start, apart from alt-tabbing out the game and restarting, is there? That needs to be remedied ASAP.

only seen one player cheat but he was voted out of the server pretty fast. kill cam gave away his cheat and the fact that he had 90+ kills with only 4 deaths after joining mid-match and ending up on top.

7. small fixes Dec 7, 2007, 15:57 LittleMe

These fixes are nice. The patch seems to be addressing the important things but nothing to improve the game but rather bugs. No new MP maps or bigger feature additions. Would like spectator 'spectating' to be enabled on more servers by default. Most servers have the spectator slot as an immovable camera. (yes I know we can eyecam players once we join the team, that's different). CoD4 MP is great tho!

haven't seen anyone cheat yet. 99.9% of cheat allegations are just n00bs encountering good players anyway.
what kind of twat cheats at a pc game anyway?

I have seen one person and he was kicked from the server. It's painfully obvious when someone is cheating in this game.

How is this game cheating-wise?
I've heard of wall-hacks and targeting-hacks.
I'd like to know before I plunge in

There's nothing unique about CoD4 that will cause it to attract more or less cheaters. The game is relatively new, so PunkBuster will catch most of the public cheats, but it will become more widespread as private hacks get released.

I could see people suspecting cheating beacuse of the "bad guy here" targeting cursor and the game's ability to shoot through walls, but I haven't seen anything blatant in the past few weeks of playing.
