Hey Malakai are you fucking stupid? Have you ever gone to school? Get a goddamn education, or at least look up the meaning of the word instead of making up your own definition.

COUPLE...is TWO. There is no "accepted meaning of a small but finite number" or "depending on the scale you are refering to".

There is no scale. "A Couple" is TWO. Not 3, not 5, not 10, not 1. 2.

Just thought i'd increase you're knowledge of the world to give you an incentive to move from your chair that you sit on 24/7, oh mighty one.

So says the one that doesn't know what number the word "couple" refers to.

Took me about 1.5 hours to finish the demo. Too many games to get it.

Somebody sure has his panties on tight. I think Victoria secret now makes plus size lingerie so you can stop forcing everything in. That is going to prevent you from having children!

Now onto this part:

Oh i'm so sorry master of all the universe. I forgot that you are omniscient. I forgot that you are correct all the time and that all should conform to your obviously massive mental ability. I apologise sincerely. I will try my hardest to mould myself into the image of a man who is so learned and has such an IQ that it dwarfs even that of Stephen Hawking.

Are we talking Dolph Lundgren or Aidan Walsh Master of the Universe? Cause there is a big difference here...

Just one thing though, "a couple of years" can have the accepted meaning of a small but finite number, however that is not necessarily the case. It depends entirely on the scale you are referring to. And since the scale could be "thousands of years" (still technically years you'll note) "a couple of years" can well imply 1-20 (or more) thousand years.

Only if you do not want anybody to understand you.

So let me get this straight. Say your brother or whoever, somebody you love is having a hard time. They ask to borrow 10 thousand dollars from you so they can get their life back on track. You agree and say "Ok, I am going to take out a loan, you have to have it payed back plus the interest in a couple of years.". But since "a couple of years" is so arbitrary in your silly little rant, he does not have to pay the loan or interest back for 2 thousand years!

Brilliant!

A couple of years and a couple of thousand years are completely different. Stop being so damn silly because you were called on something...

By the way, can I borrow $10,000, I promise I will pay it back plus 1,000,000,000 % interest in "a couple of years".

Being that this argument could get really silly, I'd like to put forward the thought that we ban the use of this word "couple" now.

I hope that helps a few people out.

I find it ironic that they seem to agree it'll be a long time before 50 gig demos/games, and instead are arguing over a term to describe it...

And here I thought a couple meant two. As in "A couple".

# In the U.S., "a couple of things" or people may be used to mean two of them, but it is also often used to mean any small number. The latter usage is disputed.

The farm is a couple of miles off the main highway [=a few miles away].

# In the U.K., "a couple of" almost always means just two

We’re going out to a restaurant with a couple of friends [=two friends].

this is a great argument

Everyone, we must bow to Enahs's intelligence. Please follow me my brothers.

On a more helpful note, how about you, my master, venture out sometime to view the world he has created and knows oh so well? It might be useful for you not to become complacent in your knowledge of the world.

Stop being a twat Enahs and think instead of being a pedantic know-it-all. "A couple of years" can mean in the future. In fact it DOES mean in the future. Plus "a couple of years" has no quantity, so it could mean anything from 2-infinite years time.

A couple is defined as a small but finite number.

Even being generous and saying a couple is 5, that is still way to soon.

Stop being a tard and saying things when you do not mean them...

Oh no 2GB! We had close to 2GB demos 2 years ago.
So you have to wait longer, whoopie.

If you have to pay per MB then it sucks with any demo, but most people don't have to yet. That is what game magazines and DVD's are for.

I don't care if it's 2GB or 3GB, which is following next soon, I'll just have to wait a bit longer as it downloads in the background.

I'm not interested in whining like a school girl at every thing that comes out in the gaming scene. Doesn't this have ads, Securom, DRM, online activation? Damn, well I guess I can complain about demo size then. There is always bandwidth under privileged, that has been true since the onset of the internet, but like it or not, it's the problem of the technology underprivileged. People shouldn't be trying to do what they don't have resources for, then complain when they can't.

but it also seems to be the companies themselves that are getting lazy with optimising the size of the demo or the content within.

If you have an RTS where you have access to all the units, there's not much to optimize. You include every single sound, content, and model, in the full version.

Thus the phrase means i'm looking AHEAD of this stupid Blu-Ray/HD-DVD. Can't you do the same?

n a couple of years time we'll hit a 50gb demo

Uhh no. So the demos are going to be bigger then the actual game it's self? That is bigger then the dual layer HD-DVD's and just at the dual-layer range of BluRays. And very few people have those drives yet.

Dude, their new CP scheme is kick ass. Lets see...you can login online (like every MMO or multiplayer shooter out there), OR you can keep the DVD in the drive. Your choice. How is that bad?!?

Because people complain like little girls without their dollies. First it's because of a 2gig file, then it's because they get a choice between CP. Waaahhhhh!

Complaining all the time! Whatever happened to an informed discussion fo the game the thread refers to?

because these companies give us reasons to complain!

i do believe its logical that demos will increase in size it's true, and that net connection's do get faster. but it also seems to be the companies themselves that are getting lazy with optimising the size of the demo or the content within.

you also need to open your eyes to the fact not everyone has the same speed connection as you. crazy, i know.

2gb on an 8mbit connectoin (bear in mind it's synced at 6mbit or so) will take about 2 hours. So 2 hours... Well if you work set it to download before work, you get back and voila you have the file.

Also just wondering but when did the comments section become so goddamned negative? I've noticed that in almost every thread it's always "No co=op wah-wah-wah" or "patch is too big wah-wah-wah". Complaining all the time! Whatever happened to an informed discussion fo the game the thread refers to?

This is a great game. Granted the demo is rather big, but then again people bitched and complained when 1gb demos first came out. Internet connectoins are getting faster. Games are getting larger....so it's only logical that demos will increase in size. In a couple of years time we'll hit a 50gb demo, but the average internet connection will be around 10 times faster than todays, so whats the problem?

I passed on this one and there new CP scheme, first register online and open a account, then have the DVD in the drive, and log in to relic servers every time just to play the single player campaign?
fine I probably could have dealt with that for the expansion but the required patch for the full version i already paid for and beat needed the same treatment no thanks.

I agree with you 100%. I bought this game anyway as the first was so awesome, and I was not disappointed at all. But a 2 gig demo is indeed mental. many people have traffic limits, and don't want to tie up their connection for a whole day just to download a demo they might not even enjoy much.
