Warhawk I went with the exact card you did when I upgraded a few months ago. I couldn't be happier with the card and everything I have thrown at it can be run at Max with exception of City of Heroes on a 100+ hero Raid heh.
Had I not gone with that exact card WH - I would not have been as giddy as I am now about the vidual awsomeness that is displayed on the screen. 
Rev. Norb: I'd just like to say that four for a dollar Tijuana tacos seemed like a good idea at the time. Please pass the toilet paper. |

OK, I bit the fucking bullet and bought a EVGA 640 MB 8800GTS for the new machine I'm building.
I looked at the fact that DX 10 just came out, it will be a while before newer versions are released. Although the 320 MB version is similar now, games with larger texture sets are coming and if it keeps me from having to buy a new card later, it's $80 well spent.
ARGH!
Also bought a 7600GT for the old computer and a second gig of memory for about $150. I'm going to keep it around as a spare machine and figured I may as well update it now and hide the cost in with the new machine.  Shhhh....she'll never know! I have a friend or two that wants to maybe start playing LAN games again and this older machine is better than his primary one with the upgrades - especially memory - 2GB vs 256 MB!!! 
Edit - ZipZoomFly has the COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro 500 RS-550-ACAA-A1 power supply on sale for $75 after rebate. I was planning on getting the SILVERSTONE ST50EF-Plus ATX 12V 2.2 500W one, but if quality and efficiency are similar I'll go with the Cooler Master. Any opinions?

A coworker's Microsoft employeed brother called him today at our office and told of his plans to call in "sick" tomorrow. How would Microsoft's managers say no to an employee taking the day off work to play a Microsoft game on a Microsoft console? Microsoft should just call it research, or a company sponsored event, or a team-building session (without the team).
