Erm... Counter-Strike Source has bots and TF2 will have bots sometime after release, along with extra maps.
CS has official commercial bots built in. TF2, DOD:S do not, and there is no indication that either will have full blown mp bots that I've seen. Valve has indicated though that they plan to finally address the shortcomings of the bot SDK so 3rd party bots can be done, something that's been requested and push for for years. They have indicated this with the video interview with gabe, and on the hlcoders mailing list.
I'm sorry but last time I played it had a LOT of gameplay to it and was more enjoyable than TFC.
Nonsense. Just because the game is more accessible to new users does NOT make it worse for experienced users. Now instead of everybody conc-jumping everywhere, nading spawns and shouting n00b at heavy weapons guys we have a much more balanced game.
Fair enough. As I said in my original post to each their own. Nobody is spewing shit or provoking reaction. I stated what is clearly my opinion and why I have that opinion. The blues news crowd is hardly a representative sample of everyone loving the game. There are plenty of people that have similar dislikes. Read the steam forums, or the FF forums(queue the screams about bias). I am far from the "only one" that doesn't have a good impression so far. I accept that I am the minority that likes fast frantic gameplay these days, and no I don't like some aspects of pre TF2 TF either, like nade spamming and BH and shit, and due to that was very excited at the potential of TF2, I just prefer a game that gets the blood flowing a bit more and doesnt kill the action with a 20 second respawn timer. Had they not gone as far as they did slowing it down it would be perfect
for me. I welcome less spam and no BH, I don't necessarily like the extreme pace reduction. Maybe I can get used to it, we'll see. I'm certainly willing to give it more time.
I want to play on some servers that are apparently lowering the respawn delay a bit. Maybe it will grow on me. I may still end up doing bots for it. I've developed Omni-bot for ET, Q4, D3, and currently FF. If Valve delivers on their promise to address the bot SDK shortcomings I definately plan to support HL2 mods as well, including possibly TF2. We'll see. Grow up a little and read my comments for what they are, opinion. The comparison to Riley is proof enough you have a reading comprehension issue, as my post was nothing like his. Not once did I attack anyones preference, which is more than can be said for you, nor did I attack Valve, Steam, etc.
