By comparison Steam takes longer to launch and login than any disc check. Steam starts when Windows does, so you never have to wait for Steam because it is already running. When you want to play a game you double click the icon and double click the game. When you want to play a regular game you have to either find it, open the box, take out the disc, insert it into your drive, wait for it to autorun and then when running wait for it to check the disc... or... leave it in your computer and again wait for the disc to spin up in order to play the game - spinning up the disc for the CD check takes longer than launching it from Steam. You are, quite simply, wrong.
That is a moot point since half of that statement is already true for Windows XP as well, and it will be completely true in the not too distant future. XP is actively supported by Microsoft and still sold to OEMs. Next year you will not be able to buy it but it will still be supported for years to come.
I have written a nice thing or two about Valve in the past on this very forum. You simply refuse to notice it because you would rather demonize and exaggerate my positions to try and make yourself seem correct. You have come up with the most absurd bullshit about Valve I have ever heard. You have refused to acknowledge even the most obvious of facts and been unreasonable and argumentative at every opportunity.
My point was to refute theyarecommingforyou's stupid assertion So you criticise me for mixing up Pitz and Pizt and yet happily get my name wrong? Hypocrite.
Everything is not always installed on the hard drive with every game. Some games do play some content from the disc. You really haven't played any computer games in the past 4yrs have you?
