I like the demo.
It's robust has single player, tutorial, and multiplayer.
The game is full of good ideas that make me ask "why didnt anyone else think of this before?"
For example during level loads you can voice chat or text chat with people. So you aren't just stuck watching a boring level loading screen (the levels load fast on my rig but still, it's a great idea). They have an option to just play where the game automatically selects a low ping server without me having to go to the server browser and find a server myself. What's more is that the server browser is really really good. The filtering options are perfect.
Another brilliant idea is "play last joined server" option where it remembers the server you joined last and tries to reconnect to it. Very handy. The favorites, the buddy list, and the option to temporarily "buddy up" with people so you can play together on a server is so easy to do. The clan creation and options are well implemented.
Graphically the most impressive thing of all is the particle effects. They are exceptional especially smoke effects. The nuke is the most dramatic explosion I have seen in a non prerendered video game. I don't even have a dx10 card and this game is still exceptionally gorgeous.
The no resource gathering and no building gameplay is fast and fun. However don't be fooled, this is a team game, where players can help each other out coordinate assaults which is made so much easier by the built in voicechat and quick command menu.
Everything about this game feels well polished and nothing feels half baked or half assed. The tactical and strategic elements seem to be fairly deep made more deeper by team play.
You can join games in progress and have 16 player MP games. What other rts game let's you do that?

"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears.

There will more licensed music in the full game.

Yeah, there are lots of interesting new twists to the RTS formula in this game, especially in multiplayer. Most important is that you can join games in progress, which is super awesome IMO. It's like Battlefield but turned into an RTS game. Also, a 12-16 player game, which is rare and/or impossible in most RTS games, is a standard match in this one. The built-in voice chat and the Battlefield-esque communication rose/radial is great, too.

Plus, you have to choose a role (armor, infantry, air, or support), and if you buy units outside of that role, you pay much higher prices. So the game encourages players to use teamwork a lot. This feature is something I'm not sure I really like yet. I can see it being a great feature for clans who are really into coordinating stuff, but it could be really frustrating for casual players.

All in all, I'm enjoying this game, although I wish it had Company of Heroes' style of gameplay. I dislike all RTS games resource management and unit building mechanics, so I like WiC for this stuff. But the gameplay here is too Command and Conquerish to me. I do like how the Tactical Aids can require you to time your attacks, too.

I tried it, and it is simply another WW2-esque tactical game.
... Did you even play it? Or even read anything about it beforehand? It's a Cold War era WW3 game, in the late 80's/early 90's timeframe.

It's interesting how it's set up, no base building, no real resource management. Much more focused around the tactical combat rather than base and army building.

The engine is superb.. graphics are great, but there is some noticeable lack of detail if you zoom in to ground level. But the smoke/particle/explosion effects are outstanding, and it runs great.

Not quite sure yet if it's worth buying at full price, but it's definately worth looking into if you're an RTS fan looking for something not groundbreaking, but still different.

Look troll ass, just because your ISP sucks (and/or you have no idea how to configure your network) and you do not get good torrent speeds, does not mean the rest of the world does. So when I ask a simple question about finding a torrent link if you have nothing constructive to say just stuff the cock back in your mouth and shut up.

With that said, at least torrents you give back to others by seeding, when you download from a website you are doing nothing but leaching and slowing down everyone else by adding to the server load. So give me a break you leach.

Micromanagement in battle of the starcraft kind (unit special abilities require clicking on each individual to use), lag spikes causing me to hear a 2s sound loop for 15s during briefing, and the game messing with your camera whenever you use basic functions thus having to fight the interface a bit just to play.

And on the torrent/download debate, I got 450 kb/s from http://www.gameupdates.org/ 's torrent, which I tried after failing a download from Gamer's Hell due to a momentary connection interruption. I <3 resume, error checking, and speed.

wic_demo.exe fails the unzipping when it gets to some d3dx10 file (I am windows XP . . .)

Anyways, trying wic_demo_us.exe from filefront and will see if that works.

Finally I can attempt to play this without making an ass out of myself.

Yes, "attempt". Just like Paris Hilton can... "attempt" to be an intelligent person or like Linday Lohan can... "attempt" to be sober. Good luck, Hump. You're gonna need it .

It depends on how many people and how much bandwidth are uploading. Yeah, it also depends ISP's shaping, caps, etc.

Maybe you just don't understand how torrents work or more likely you're probably using an ISP that shapes your networks traffic (ie you'll get crap torrent speeds because they don't want you using them). Personally I get exceptional torrent speeds most of the time.

But I digress...downloading the demo now...
