If there was DX10 for XP I'd be all for giving it a shot, but again only way to get DX10 is with Vista, and I'm just not ready to do that until my catalog of games are fully Vista compatible.
Out of curiosity, what games are you worried about Vista compatibility with? I've got Home Premium 64-bit and all the games I've tried on it work fine. I've certainly tried nowhere near my full library though.
Actually, what's been my biggest problem with Vista has been nvidia's craptastic SLI support in their drivers. In a number of games, my framerate is significantly hurt by enabling SLI. In the previous beta driver, enabling SLI caused the display driver to stop responding every few minutes, but the latest beta driver fixes this issue.
Single card support does work acceptably if SLI is disabled, but I'm not a fan of having one card just sit there. Vista has been RTM since last November, and nvidia still can't get their drivers fully up to par. Fortunately, I've learned my lesson and my future computers will not use SLI.
