Crysis, Bioshock and UT3 will tell us how DX10 pans out but due to delays and being tied in to Vista it has been a very unimpressive start, especially in comparison to the success of DX9.
There is absolutely nothing unimpressive with DX10. Somehow people tend to forget the past or change it like they wish.
DX9 had a much more terrible, slow and unexciting start than what happens currently to DX10. It took more than one year until the first DX9 title was released (Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness) and it wasn't well received.
Almost two years after DX9 was released, the first real DX9 title showed up: FarCry and it took another 6-8 months until DX9 became really popular when HL2 shipped.
And you are telling me with all the DX10 demos and upcoming games, DX10 patches coming and already available 6-8months after DX10 ships is unimpressive. Funny guy.
