Halo 2 & Shadowrun XP?

Falling Leaf Systems offers preorders of Halo 2 and Shadowrun for Windows XP (thanks Xbox 360 Fanboy by way of Joystiq) announces a merger between the VAIO and Alky software projects, which they say will result in a software package to allow Windows XP owners to play Halo 2 and Shadowrun, both released as DirectX 10/Windows Vista exclusives. They offer preorders of both games to be fulfilled through Amazon, promising a free copy of the compatibility software "within a few months." There is no word on what will happen should this interoperability software fail to materialize, nor is it clear whether this is something Microsoft might take issue with, but there is the following statement from Falling Leaf Systems CEO Brian Thomason:

“Microsoft has, in typical Microsoft fashion, decided to launch their forced migration onslaught in full force with the release of two games that will only run on Windows Vista,” stated Thomason. “First they claim that it was impossible to implement DirectX 10 compatibility atop Windows XP, and now they also want us to believe that they couldn’t successfully launch two DirectX 9 based titles on XP either. We plan to expose both theories as patently false.”

So they were prophets were they?
No, they were Christians.

I guess that means they weren't part of government and didn't decide what rights you have after all
What it means is they didn't try to take aways rights that citizens innately have and deserve.

Your 'rights' as citizens have been given to you by politicians and past governments.
I hope you are not American because you don't know much about American history and government. America's founders believed that citizens had certain inalienable rights endowed by their creator not government, and that it is the government's job to protect and uphold those rights.

If you think they worry about altering what rights you have because you may or may not be armed is a fallacy.
There is nothing fallacious about it. The history of successful rebellion and revolution has been predicated on the power of the gun in the hands of the rebels.

If you think they worry about altering what rights you have because you may or may not be armed is a fallacy.

The reason is and always has been money and economics, the production and sale of guns and ammo and all the secondary and tertiary markets that they are part of and are influenced by.

Control of what?
Control of the populace by government. It's easier for politicians to take away and deny citizens their rights when they don't have to worry about armed resistance.

Isn't it time to grow up a little bit?
That's a question you need to be asking yourself. Get your head out of the clouds and look around. Prohibition didn't stop the flow of alcohol. The "War on Drugs" didn't stop the flow of drugs. Do you really believe a "war on guns" is going to fare any better? I'll surrender my gun when every criminal and rogue law enforcement officer surrenders his.

Gun Control isn't about guns. It's about control.

Gawd, you still have that stupid ass sig. Control of what? The NRA is always full of slogans that are mere applause points, but short of solutions to societal ills accompanying guns.

Isn't it time to grow up a little bit? You're a cop, think it through.

Fun thing is if you read the venomhed's first posts here he appeared to be a decent guy to talk to, then the "I work in the games industry" spiel started cracking and he just fell apart and degenerated into posting this BS.

Wow - the normal tools didn't come out of the woodwork, but I will have to bookmark this thread for the f-tard filter, so if anything happens to my machine, or if I need to load f-tards into another pc, I will have the majority of them all in one place.

Blacks created the word Nigger, due to Nigeria. It was not whites, spaniards, dutch or brits that created this.

You're an idiot.

Nigger comes from the Latin "niger" which means black. And the word well predated the establishment of the country of Nigeria or Niger (by, oh, a few hundred years).

The rest of your statements are completely irrelevant, and often incorrect as well.

Venom, it's time to take that confederate flag off the rear window of your pickup truck and trade in your shotgun for some sunblock - your neck is a little red. You could use some sunblock. I'd also take off that tin foil hat. They look silly.

I'm one of those crazy people who would actually enjoy playing Halo 2 if it weren't a Vista exclusive. This may be my chance.

Otherwise, I'll just buy it out of the virtual bargain bin in 2 or 3 years when I upgrade to Vista...

Welcome to Bluesnews where all the users are multi-faceted. One thing I've learned after 10 years of having this website as my startup page is, us users embody pretty much every type of person that uses the internet. Everyone from the script kiddies to actual normal people post on this board. However, as of late (the past 2 or so years) the former has grown in numbers.
