No, seriously, Steam's cool. Except not being able to sell games after i'm done with them sucks. I can never do digital distribution cuz of that... |

"has surpassed 13 million active accounts."
7 billion player minutes a month divided by 13 million accounts is 538 player minutes a month per account. It seems plausible to me that most of those accounts really are active.
My steam account is still active, because I'm still playing Counterstrike every once in a while. I still install the occasional single player mod for HL2 (the Awakening was quite good, really), and Garry's mod is addictive and I don't know why.
Steam has quite a bit going for it, despite all of the hate.

I signed up due to lack of choice and wanting to play HL2, I completed HL2, reliesed it was over hyped and haven't played it since. So my steam account has been inactive for well over a year and I've no intention of ever using it again.
I hated the Steam before trying it and confirmed it's shiteness when I used it. Voteing with my feet and not touching it again.

Not me! I find HL2 multiplayer to be pointless and not fun. BF2/2142 are vastly more fun for me. Why do so many play it? It's like the worst part of quake1 DM multi player where I was picking up weaps & running around maps shooting everyone. But it was vastly worse than Quake1 (which I like a LOT).
On another server I was driving those little boats on jumps & stuff. That got old very fast. Give me a real boat game, not that junk.
Is there a decent CTF mod for HL2? I mean, why are so many playing it online? I noticed that when Quake 2 came out, that many people bought it, never having played Quake 1, and thought it was great. For me, Q2 was a total let down and disappointment. Same thing applies to HL2 as far as I'm concerned. ArmA - BF2142 - BF2 - these are the fun online FPS games now

Well is a Steam account ever not active? Can't anyone just sign up for Steam and that's it?
I'd be more interested in knowing how many active players they have instead.
