BioShock Limited Edition Planned

There will be a BioShock limited edition for both PC and 360, sure to please the over 14,000 petitioners who sought a more expensive SKU for Irrational's action/RPG. They now turn their attention to what such a package will include, and they have a survey up asking advice on content.

The problem with the "Making of" DVDs is that they are very rarely insightful. Most of the time, they simply regurgitate stuff that has been revealed on blogs, previews and interviews. Now, if the limited edition featured an in-game commentary ala Chronicles of Riddick or HL2: Lost Coast, that would be nice.

Quite frankly, I think the limited edition of Bioshock should have all the things that were mentioned in the survey.

Heck, my upgrading will be staged for this game.

I am a little saddened the toy figuring is in the lead. Honestly, I care more about how the game was made or developer comments/insight over a little toy statue that will either permanently stay in the case or collect dust on my desk.
Giving me both is fine, but I prefer insight over objects.
Thinking I'll finally start playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. this weekend,
Ray

I want limited editions to come with lego versions of game characters. As a lego maniac in my younger days stuff like that would be the only sort of 'collectibles' I could see myself being a bit interested in.

Now that is an awsome idea. My whole computer desk would be littered with lego dudes and the like. How cool would it be to have a lego Mammoth tank?

*breathes*

The possibilities are endless. Valve could sucker me into a collectible edition of TF2 if they included all of the characters (especially with that art style) and I've never bought a collectible edition of any game before.

How about a voucher towards a working patch for the game, something in writing that they’ll actually support their products this time.

Well, they're part of Take-Two now who is publishing the game. Seeing as how it was Vivendi that stopped support for Tribes Vengeance and not Irrational, I think there's a better chance of this game getting proper support.

Like most people in here, I will get this without hesitation.

Masa I kind of noticed that about the 360 games up to now... I do not own a 360 but I've seen my neighbor finish all his 360 games except Oblivion in no time. At least now I now why... like you he said it did not take away from the quality of the titles.

On a personal not I just hopwe it does not become a trend. I like my games to be at least 20 hours long, 30 hours + would be perfection.

...and I then want to pay $10-15 less for it retail.

Yes, no kidding. I'll be getting this for the PC, (Irrational makes kick ass games, the one company I'll buy from without too much question), but I'm really wondering if (the standard edition) will be worth $60 on the 360. Even if it is a great game, I doubt it'll be that long of one; given the 360 games released thus far. Very, very few game were so short, but so astonishingly great that I didn't consider the length as a negative.

PDF manual works just as well for me. Games like this it might get refered to 2 or 3 times and then never again.

DVD's should be standard, and not charged extra for.

I want my limited edition to have nothing but the game in a stupid paper sleeve and a very plain box, and I then want to pay $10-15 less for it retail.

Make that 14,001.

I'd definitely buy the limited edition. Heck, I'm buying this game Day One, no need for a demo.

I'd take the soundtrack cd, the book, or the dvd, in that order...

And yeah, I agree. Give people an incentive to buy.

I still think this is the only way to go to prevent (a part of) piracy.
Put a thick, nice looking, well written manual in there or something
