This game is almost the awesomest.

But it didn't learn anything from civ 4... such as less is sometimes best. I miss those sliders that controlled everything in MOO, I felt more like an emperor than an entire beaurocracy. MOO2 started the slide and this game is over the top with the micro madness. I'm not flaming, I'm sure people love managing thousands of planetary sectors, space stations and thgat boring research system, and it's all intentional and these devs aced it, just not what I'm waiting for. Cut out the other stuff and give me something to do in battles other than get a cofee.

Someone learn to program and make a moo clone/port on DS, that would rule.

I love this game and this is a good expansion. If you plan on buying it directly from Stardock online just be careful...They make you use this horrible POS called Stardock Central, I won't do it again.

If you do decide to screw around with it though, for God's sake, do not use a different email address than what you may have used to purchase or update another game, such as GalCiv 2 regular.

I really don't get that. I have used StarDock Central many times. It works great, has never crashed, and its awesome being able to download and install a game on any machine I use without needing a CD.

If you are really having a problem with it, tell Stardock! It should be obvious by now that they legitimately care about their customers.

Great game, loads of fun. I didn't have that much of a problem with Stardock Central, other than having to turn my firewall off before i could use it.

If you're into space civ type games, I'd have to say that Master of Orion II has finally had it's crown removed. The design your own ship down to the gun placement and where your radar is is a lot of fun.

Best to plan out when you're going to play the game, so you don't have much to do the next day, going to sleep when you're on the verge of conquering the universe isn't an option.

Graphics are somewhat clunky, but still better than any competitors in this genre, no game is alike, as politics and economics will control your military decisions, and the megaevents in the expansion really make it seem like a huge story is unfolding.

Things I'd like to see:
Tactical control of ships in combat, just like in Masters of Orion 2 (you can watch them fight, and it's really cool, but controlling them would be even better.

A Much better ground combat engine. Currently, the only control you have over offensive ground combat is how large your invading army is, and what technologies you've researched, the rest is decided by a single random number (favoring invading forces).

Specification of a worlds exports. Plus trading inside an empire. I'd like to have specific worlds export food for instance, so I can grow a different world to a ridiculous hellhole of a Bladerunneresque planet, with nothing to look forward to but the inevitable drafting of their children into my dark empire's unstoppable armies. *ahem*

More options are always good. THe game as is is tremendous, but could still be better. Teh End.

Now that's something I want to try sometimes, as soon as I find a way to add a few more hours to my day.
