Happy Pi Day!

Office workers 'risk blood clots'. "The researchers found a third of patients admitted to hospital with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) were office workers who spent hours at a computer." Ruh-roh, I have bad habits in this regard… I need to get up and move around more. I'm guessing some of you do too.

Oh and I'm all for getting rid of the old incandescent bulbs. I started replacing bulbs in my house with compact fluorescent lights as they burned out. There are actually still a few old bulbs that wont die. The hall light and a closet light are still going, and come to think of it, I can't remember ever replacing the hall light since I moved here.

I'm looking forward to when there are affordable LED lighting because while I like the compact fluorescent lights because they last longer and use less energy, they take several minutes to reach full brightness when you turn them on, so I'm probably using more energy now as I tend to leave them on all the time.

I have had to replace one since I started using them. They're supposed to last 5 years and that one quit working in less than a year, so I'm thinking it might have been defective.
