It's a shoddy SubSpace clone.
The video makes it look like there's no strategy or skill. Just bumping and shooting.
Dammit, I wanted something similar to Xwing v. TieFighter online. 8 people sitting in cockpits in space...

I don't understand why console-centric game companies need to steal game titles from insignificant market sized PC games. PC games don't sell enough, but the names do? It just pisses off the people who remember the true game when they see it's nothing like the original. The masses of console kiddies either don't recognize or don't care about the name.
I'd like to buy the naming rights for whatever gaming medium (VR, holodeck) replaces consoles and name a version of barbie dress up "Gears of War". Hmm.. maybe that's what happened, some guy at EA grew up hating WC on the PC.

From what I've seen, the only thing it has in common with Wing Commander is the title.
Here's something to make the diehards pee their pants: Where's Freespace Online? 
(Cruel joke, I know. But I can dream.)
edit: Years ago, EA put out a collection of the first 2-3 WC games, designed to run in Windows. I'd kill to have those right now.

I just watched the video on kotaku of gameplay, it's not wing commander at all.
It's kind of hard to describe, just go watch the Kotaku gameplay vid.

Yeah, that certainly would put another nail in the PS3's coffin. I have been considering getting a PS3 next year sometime, but if they lose more exclusives, I'll be playing those games on my 360 or PC instead. |

| Ya, a Wing Commander Armada 2 would be awesome. It could tap into the new Battlestations Midway fanbase too. Midway sold pretty well I thinks? |

I'm kind of excited about a new Wing commander game on XBL arcade. A decent port of Armada would probably fit into XBL arcade very well. It'd be fun to throw together Multiplayer matches and blast some kilrathi in space!

No, I don't remember Wing Commander Arena. Oh well--there hasn't been a good Wing Commander game since Privateer.
I _still_ experience the pre-mission montage once in a while in my dreams.

Another MGS4 on 360 article ... sometimes I agree that things are just rumor, but when you start hearing it over and over again (like the updated 360) and look at the track record of these types of rumors <*cough*Assassin's Creed*cough* *cough*GTA:VCS on PS2*cough*> they usually end up being true.
Man I hope this is though, MGS4 is the only reason I'd pick up a PS3 at this point.
