C&C3 Demo Details

Command and Conquer DEN has a follow-up on yesterday's news that a demo is on the way for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (story). The demo announcement carried a February 20 release date at first, but this was then edited to read "coming soon," and the EA Online Community Manager explains why:

The date is not official. We will be releasing this demo in conjunction with FilePlanet as we did with BFME2, but they put the cart before the horse.

We will announce the date when ready and that is hopeful for later this week.

Just for your own personal knowledge... You're building a long list of evidence that will be pretty convincing to a judge when Blue finally gets sick of you & gives your IP Address over to the authorities. Then the ISP will give your name up. Anonymity does not truly exist on the internet. Although I doubt you're smart enough to realize this.

I've yet to get my next great RTS since Wc3 Um, have you played Company of Heroes or WH40K:DoW? Act of War was good too.

C&C3 will be nothing like the original. And that is sad It will have the corny cutscenes, complete with Kane though! Reason enough for me to buy it. Kane has been my favorite bad guy since he blew Seth's brains out. He's due for a victory in the storyline sooner or later. Maybe third time's the charm.

I've yet to get my next great RTS since Wc3 Seconded...strategy-wise, I've been getting my fix from turn-based (Advance Wars DS vs buddies, shame there's no Wifi feature) games ever since Frozen Throne while occasionally testing out the new snazzy looking yet sleep-inducing gameplay from newer RTS games. I haven't been keeping up with C&C3 news at all really , somebody tell me they ditched the Sage engine! This comment was edited on Feb 14, 16:46.

Yea, CTone, the original was developed by Westwood Studios, who were bought out and dissolved by EA about 4 years ago. C&C3 will be nothing like the original. And that is sad

The last C&C was totally bugridden. There was a huge bug in the engine that caused it to lag unbelieveably, even with the fastest computer. They axed the support and it never got fixed.

Well I don't know about you but I'm extremely excited to play the C&C3 Demo next week! Truly just hoping EA didn't fuck it up this time.

Well here's hoping. At this point no C&C can be like the originals. They just can't. It's also funny how we all want to see sequels to great games and great sequels. Yet then we complain when their's nothing new about them or what is new, sucks to the point it's not the same game we know. Supreme Commander let me down. Maybe I'll give it another go when I built my next gen system once Crysis hits, though until then, I've yet to get my next great RTS since Wc3. Probably only Starcraft 2 will be it if that ever hits before the people that played the original don't die.
