I really don't "get" NASCAR either. Most exciting thing about it is when there's a smack-up.

I didn't really get it either. Then I finally decided to sit down with my dad and watch some races, since he's usually asking if he can watch on my HDTV.

After I while I got into it. The trick is to pick a car to cheer for; I chose Stewart since he was a little rowdy and his bright-orange car was easy to find. It's a lot more interesting once you start rooting for a car, following him, and seeing if he's going to advance.

Now I watch quite often. It's also more fun to watch with someone, particularly if they're really into it. Then again, I never watch the whole thing. I'll watch the first 15-30 minutes, the last 15-30 minutes, and random sittings in the middle.

I kind of like videosift...my opinion vs yours...we can both win.

Not impressed. Concept cars are built all the time. And Ive seen much better.

The car includes exclusive materials such as aluminum? Wow. Ive got a whole roll of that in my drawer.

If go-fast-turn-left by itself is so appealing, then why does no one pay attention to the National Championship Air Races in Reno? Its billed as the world's fastest motor sport and you have to go out of your way to find any info on it -www.airrace.org (and only hear about it outside of its own camp when there's a crash).

Lol yeah really. I don't get the excitement of driving in circles. I'll take Formula One, hell even Formula Two/Formula 3000/GP2 Series over NASCAR anyday.

NAAAARF!

Pretend violence is the gravest threat facing Americans today.

Haha, love this article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17014430/site/newsweek/

And I especially loved this quote:

The views that have been expressed--that there were documents, that we were helping terrorists and [with the] transfer of weapons, and the things that American leaders announced--we say if there is proof they should show it.

Right. The US does the same thing, the British do the same thing, the Chinese have messed with other countries in the past (the Korean War was a doozie for them and the United States) and continue to meddle here and there, and especially the Russians have their hand in all sorts of under-the-table support and arms trade...it's hardly inconceivable that Iram, ostensibly the biggest military and political force in the region outside the US, wouldn't take advantage of a chance to disrupt American forces where they can. Especially after years of the Americans doing it to them. Riiighhht.

The Shiite versus Sunni conflict is such that you honestly can't tell who is which, unless it's noted who comes from which camp. Thus insurgents can grouped into just about any party desired. Same with nationalities in the region. Iranian, Saudi, Iraqi, I hate to say but those nationalities can pass for the one of the others easily enough.

Like the recent abduction and killing of four (five ended up killed) American soldiers in Iraq, passed off as an insurgent attack. BS. That was the work of Iranian SF. The tactics and equipment used there indicated a state-ran military unit, and one whose mission was expensive to mount. These kinds of activities by hostile nations aren't unknown. Hell, North Korea has been abducting South Korean and Japanese citizens for years using their military forces.

Yeah, Iran plays itself off as a "theological socialist nation" but can't but help play the same kind of games any nation with any kind of influence enjoys.

"It's not like that sport makes any money."

Spoken like someone that knows absolutely nothing about it. The #1 most watched and most attended sport in the USA is the NFL.

The #2 spot is (and has been for a number of years) held by NASCAR.

Umm... I think they might be making just a wee amount of money, bitch.

You wanna talk about a fucked up, waste of time sport designed for east coast faggots?... talk about baseball.
