No problem. I liked that movie. Earlier on the developers were swearing up and down that they'd stay true to the original version of Howard and that it'd be a hardcore, dark, dirty and violent world. I hope it comes out that way. After re-reading some of the books after a couple of decades I think it would be great.
Not sure how it would get past the morality police in America as I doubt they'd let that stuff into a school library if they ever read it. Just hoping.
But anyways, that movie was as close to Conan as we could ever expect. Luckily it was made before the morality police turned into a content changing force to be reckoned with. The second sucked, but the first wasn't bad.

@CreamyBlood
I purposely choose quotes from the film since I believe the game will be more like the films and less like the books. Plus obscure quoting from a novel makes people look like pompous asses; pardon my French.

Absolutely. Some of those books help mold my young and malleable teenaged mind into the wonderful and amazing contributing member of society that I am today!

Try quoting from the Robert E Howard books and not the movie. You might really be impressed.
Yeah cos quoting from 30s pulp fiction is pure edification. Sheesh.

Memorable Quotes from Conan theBarbarian |

The Wizard: Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis, and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And onto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!
Conan's Father: For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. This you can trust. [Points to sword]
The Wizard: He did not care any more... life and death... the same. Only that the crowd would be there to greet him with howls of lust and fury. He began to realize his sense of worth... he mattered. In time, his victories could not easily be counted... he was taken to the east, a great prize, where the war masters would teach him the deepest secrets. Language and writing were also made available, the poetry of Kitai, the philosophy of Sung; and he also came to know the pleasures of women, when he was bred to the finest stock. But, always, there remained the discipline of steel.
Mongol General: What is best in life? Conan: To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
Conan: The riddle... of steel. Thulsa Doom: Yes! You know what it is, don't you boy? Shall I tell you? It's the least I can do. Steel isn't strong, boy, flesh is stronger! Look around you. There, on the rocks; that beautiful girl. Come to me, my child... [the girl jumps to her death] Thulsa Doom: That is strength, boy! That is power! What is steel compared to the hand that wields it? Look at the strength in your body, the desire in your heart, I gave you this! Such a waste. Contemplate this on the tree of woe. Crucify him!
The Wizard: So, did Conan return the wayward daughter of King Osric to her home. And having no further concern, he and his companions sought adventure in the West. Many wars and feuds did Conan fight. Honor and fear were heaped upon his name and, in time, he became a king by his own hand... And this story shall also be told.

i kinda gotta agree with ya there...AO actually was (and still is) a fun game. the screens and other media i've seen from AoC look pretty good. not saying i'd buy it when (and if) it ever comes out, but i'd definitely hop on the open beta /trial bandwagon to test drive it. which, if this post is any indicator, will be in 2011.
i like how it doesn't look like a WOW copy.

Hmmm...I think people are being a little too harsh on this game. I certainly didn't think the combat looked that bad.
Also, Anarchy Online wasn't a bad game. Yes, it had an awful launch, but they fixed many of the bugs and the game became more stable. Of the sci-fi MMO's, it certainly wasn't the worst out there.
Anyway, I'm willing to give it a chance and wait until it's closer to launch to pass judgement on it. I just think the fact that they are delaying the game probably means they are trying to put out something of a little more quality.

I am so not excited about this game. It looks like an ass, and there is nothing new here. It all has been done before millions of times. Can't they figure out something new or exciting?

Combat looks pretty lame IMO. Your character holds a shield and there is no blocking?

Oh I wish Vanguard would be delayed 6 months also. So much for the extra control Brad said he would have when he sold out to Sony, lol.

Good move Funcom, don't be another Vanguard and blow your potential by releasing a game before its ready. Take your time, get it right. It did wonders for Blizzard...
