It's a great game, no two ways about it. I am writing this while my alt is flying down to Tanaris..(hunter alt, main is a shaman)
cant wait for the expansion.. so much new stuff, those new 5-mans look great, and is it Karazhan(sp?) that has the Wizard of Oz encounter? looks great.. the chess match too.

I'm sure there are still SOME people who are fans of the Deer Hunter games, NSYNC and Backstreet Boys.
It's all rather subjective really, isn't it? Or are you arrogant enough to say your subjective opinion is superior to other people's subjective opinion? Grow up. Grow up? Isn't pretty much everything in life based on one person's opinion being better than the next, therefore that is the one being acted upon? Isn't that government? Isn't that business?
And yes, one opinion is often as valid as the next. But there are extremes. And there is often general consensus.
Think for a second - in defending everyone's right to an equally valid opinion, you're defending Deer Hunter. You're defending the Nazi party. You're defending people that vote on religion, or lack thereof, instead of issues.
Not all opinions are created equal.

It's all rather subjective really, isn't it? Or are you arrogant enough to say your subjective opinion is superior to other people's subjective opinion? It's not so much a matter of arrogance as it is a matter of order. Yes, opinions are subjective. Most things in the world are subjective. However, if we all respected each other's opinions, nothing would ever get done.
"Oh, I don't think kiddie porn is such a bad thing. In fact, I find it most arousing!" "Hrm... I find that utterly disgusting, but hey, to each their own. Who am I to impose a law against your subjective opinion? I am not quite that arrogant."
I dunno, I just find the whole argument for respecting other's opinions, no matter how retarded, to be really pointless. Tolerance breeds complacency, after all. Much better to establish your own opinion's superiority through fact and logic and then smirk when people share their inferior opinions.

Again, why do people get irate that people like this game; conversely, why do people get irate that others dislike it? So long as they don't attack you as a person they're entitled to their opinion. Case in point: I disliked Oblivion for many a reason. I don't loathe my friends that love the game and play it often (or loathe anyone that likes it for that matter). It just didn't suite me is all. Calling someone names for liking/disliking something is silly.

Age of Conan is going to rock. I follow it constantly and have great faith in Funcom (Anarchy Online remains my all time favorite MMOG, though I haven't played it much in a good while.)
World of Warcraft, I have an open account and I play it fairly often. The reason for it's success is simple. It's quick to get into, highly polished and easy to play. It really does support our baser needs. Push the right buttons, get a pellet.
Burning Crusade I'm looking forward to, simply because it has a lot of boosts to the Druid class, my fav. I enjoy druid so much I wish I could cart it around to other MMOG's I play lol. But once Age of Conan comes out in March to May, I'm out of here.

All the WoW-haters can spread their for dislike the game as much as they like. It's not going to change the fact that it is the singly most successful game out there and Blizzard are making a fortune from it. Seven million gamers can't be wrong ...
... or perhaps the WoW-haters are just arrogant enough to claim that those gamers ARE wrong and they are right. It just wouldn't surprise me. :p Remember when Deer Hunter was the most popular game out there? Were all of its buyers wrong? YES!
Remember when NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys were the most popular music acts out there? Were all of their fans wrong? YES!

SWG has better playability and more content than WoW, and considering how bad SOE's screwed that one up, that's saying something.
"We can do this one of two ways. There's the hard way, which involves hours of discussion, tons of negotiation, half a dozen bribes, and no guarantee of success."
"What's the easy way?"

Less bored than I was in my two week stint in WoW, Nice to know I'm not the only one that lasted under 14 days.
Run here, push button, watch monster die, check for item, run there, search for new monster, wait for spawn (and this was on a new, low server), push button, watch monster die, check for item...
The Sims felt like it had more gameplay, and that was just watching an avatar read a book...

I think the Sims and Sims 2 normally outsell WoW by rather a lot don't they?
Oh and 7 million gamers or people can easily be wrong - just ask the 17m who voted hitler into power!

Conan will have a singleplayer campaign that will be free to play. Actually, I think you have to complete it before you can go online.

I hope they don't fuck up the Conan MMPOG. They certainly are running out of ideas for PC games. Or have for a long time, considering overall quality and entertainment a lot of them have anymore.
