What American accent do you have? |

The test figured out correctly that I am from the Northeast, but surprisingly it didn't ask if "cot" and "cart" sound the same (and around here they do).

Merry Xmas to all.
Sorry to hear the Kitty, but it did have a very long life.
As for Accents:
You are from the West Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.
Which I was borned and raised in southern california and now live in florida.
And again Merry Xmas, now excuse me while we have Torando Watch's in effect so I must gather my belongings and in the words of Wierd Al 'Duck and Cover with my Yule Tide lover (yeah right) while the air raid sirens blair'
Torando's on Xmas? WTF!?!

Hey 'Pig, can you say back into the playoffs? I was watching the game over at my Dad's and my step-brother's girlfriend announced that she just knew the Chargers were going to score. Just as I started to tell her that we were going to win Rivers threw the ball to Jackson and shut my pie-hole right up.
But yeah, as painful as that was - and it was painful - I thought the Hawks finally played a somewhat consistent game, at least intensity wise. San Diego is a really good team and Seattle finally looked like a decent team also.

Enahs, as Logo Master (or should that be Lord of Logos) do you have the old Christmas logo? No? Ohh damn, my bad guys. It has actually been up for the past ~2 weeks!
But I have two different scripts, one the one you guys see and one I test to make sure it works right on the page. I forgot to switch back from the testing one to the normal one, so I have been seeing the Christmas one for weeks, while you guys have still been seeing the ET:QW logo.
My bad!
I switched it to the normal one.
Unfortunately the way the new design is, a lot of the Christmas one gets cropped, but ehh.
Merry christmas!

OWWW! Holy shit... that's a rather unexpected blow against holiday cheer...
And here I thought he'd entertain for at least five more years.
Definitely gotta go to karaoke Thursday night and see if CJ's around to do his James Browin-singing impression.

EDIT: I remember some techno-dance song that actually used a vocal sample of some guy saying "James Brown is dead".

So I go to my mother's after work, with sister, bro-in-law and niece present already.
Baby's friggin cute as usual - even more so when opening presents - well, all she really did was tear off little bits of the wrapping, nearly stuck some of those in her mouth, and made this really silly gesture with a huge smile, pulling apart her arms whilst either dealing with the wrapping, or any tissue paper available... so friggin cute!
Then my godmother and her fam came over.... and the arguing between them and my mother over my own well-being started! But not before (thankfully) my sis, bro-in-law and niece left... I decided to shove off into the guest bedroom/computer room pondering more practical things with godmother's daughter's bf...

EDIT: Enahs - I asked, and received the response, "Yup, always here." Whether referring to the establishment in general or not, I don't know. Meet in chat if you want.
Otherwise, Merry Christmas/Happy Chanukkah/Merry Yule/Insert greeting here.

Boston. Though, I live near Boston, and am not claimed by Bostonians themselves to even carry any US-related accent!

Pretty impressive! Didn't look like he went an inch off the centreline. Still, he could've saved himself a repair bill if he had only watched that other video of the guy in the speeding car reaching through the sunroof and yanking down the landing gear of the plane above him by hand.

It also correctly spotted my non-California western accent. On a side note, I've had a couple of different people identify me as a Wyomingite from my accent, which I found suprising since A - I didn't think we had a distinctive enough accent from Coloradans, Montanans, and Ubangies, and B - I didn't think there were enough of us out there to build a good sample size to make such an observation.

They said my accent was from Philly. I'm from Arizona and speak two separate language other than English, so maybe that contributes to it. Philadelphia...I've never even been to Philly!

I used to live just down the road from Charlie Drake in Hampton Court, England. Some Sundays the local kids would go around to his garden for 'tea' and a small show. I remember him for his humor, although I am not sure how well it would be appreciated today, and his personality but most of all for his 'I have not been upset by success' approach. He always had a genuine smile on his face. Fond memories. Thanks Charlie for contributing to a happy childhood.
