I bought this on a whim the other day. I need another game like I need an extra hole in my head. But I'm an addict what can I say? I had read a few good posts and was happy to see they were spot-on. This game may not be the RainbowSix of old but it's still fun as hell.
The cover system is right out of Gears of War and since they both are using Unreal I wonder if the two studios were talking while these games were in development. I rented Gears and Vegas for the 360 but I am a die-hard PC gamer and just can't get into the controller. Getting older doesn't help either.
I have yet to try the multiplayer but this game is worth the single player fun alone so if the multiplayer is good that makes it all the better. Just don't expect a lot of realism in the single-player even when you select it as the difficulty level. I guess it only means you can die if hit in the head a time or two by the enemy lead.
I have shot tangos and got them on a single head shot. Yet on the other hand I have also hit them two or three times in the neck and head before they finally go down. But that usually doesn't take away from the game-play. Not for me at least.
If you didn't like the way GRAW PC looked then don't buy this game because it has the same blurring or HDR effects. One thing I really love in R6V is the incendiary grenades nothing like seeing (and hearing) a tango burn to death. Damn good fun. But those crazy Canadians making these last two games (GRAW & R6V) are going to piss off the Mexican and the Mexican-American community since we are killing beaners again.
