The baseball playoffs began yesterday, and the Mets' first game of the post-season is this afternoon. Pedro is already out for the duration, and the bad news is El Duque has now been scratched with a calf injury (in a bizarre coincidence) of his own. The team's aged starting pitching has been an Achilles' heel all season, and losing two big game pitchers will be tough to overcome, but injuries are part of the game, so hopefully the team will be able to overcome.
