Suuuure, you did. Becuase Torrents where the leachers are 3x the seeders are always so faaaast.. *not* You show a clear lack of knowledge how the BT protocol works. The more you upload, the faster you download. I had my UL capped at around 75kb/s and I got over 300KB/s for the whole download. uTorrent reported the avg speed at 457kb/s. The original post was a typo, it was a 4 not a 5. On my college connection at least I haven't seen many places go above 700kb/s from HTTP or FTP, although I *DID* hit 1.5mb/s from I assume what must've been a particular uncrowded site.
I routinely hit over 500kb/s on torrents that are seeder heavy. Just because you're too fucking ignorant to know how something so simple works doesn't make you look any less of an ass when you try and be clever and try and predict my replies in advance. No lies here, REMEMBER, FASTER DOWNLOAD SPEEDS = REALLY BIG E-PENIS!!1eleven 11!
So go ahead and make another post on how you don't care because you don't like to upload or how you downloaded it faster anyway.
Plus, I am playing BF 2142 are you? (not to mention about 50 or so exclusive betas ive played over the last few years. Only 3 or so betas have interested me that Blue has posted about at least. One of those betas ended up not being an FP exclusive after all. BF2142 DEFINITELY isn't one of them, I care not to play it after the horrible treatment BF2 was given. I'll spent $12 or however much of a ripoff fee they charge if they somehow get an exclusive ET:QW beta, and just cancel it a couple of weeks later.
In conclusion:
FILEPLANET SUBSCRIPTIONS: SERIOUS FUCKING BUSINESS GOING ON HERE. GRRRRR!

My Beautiful Fileplanet account to the rescue again. Fileplanet is hands down the best few dollars a month i have ever spent. I just downloaded the game at 550kb/s average.
For free. (as in not wasting money on bileplanet)

I gurantee I downloaded the file faster than you. Actual speed not dreamland made up to try and impress with some clever post imaginary speed.

So go ahead and make another post about how you dont care because *insert game name* sucks and you didnt want to play it anyway. |

So are people having fun with this? If so, I may upgrade my not-touched-since-I-beat-the-game FEAR installation to 1.07 and fire it up tomorrow night. If not... uh well I won't.

I still have FEAR and have it at v1.07. Do I need to download this client and get the key? No, the 1.07 patch brings FEAR retail up to the same level for multi as FEAR Combat. I'm still getting Combat though so I don't need a CD when I play. |

filerush.com (now filerushnews.com?!?) almost always has a torrent for the latest files -- not too sure how many seeds it has, but it's up there.

Since this is a free game, I wonder if we might see a major decompression in the amount of Wolf-ET servers, which is a free game as well. Well, except for all of those playing it with Pentium III's and GeForceMX cards still. Absolutely not. Not even a minor change in player numbers in ET. FEAR is a generic futuristic dm/tdm/ctf game (not a bad one by any means) while ET is a teamplay based WW2 game.

I don't think you go through the trouble of all of this just to drum up a few more expansion sales. I'd agree with you but an extensive questionnaire before you are allowed to get a CD-Key asks what would make you buy the full version, why you hadn't bought it up until then etc. kind of flies in the face of that theory.
Theres also the direct marketing value of having some of your personal info etc.

They're probably giving it away to drum up interest in the expansion pack that's coming out soon. I don't think you go through the trouble of all of this just to drum up a few more expansion sales. I think they're fishing for the cult-like following ET captured by doing the same thing years ago -- in order to drum up interest/sales in a sequel. However, my opinion is that just because its free doesn't mean people will play it. ET had novel elements, and though I haven't played F.E.A.R., I don't believe it was anything near revolutionary...at least not in its multiplayer aspect.

I think the quake style of shoot for 30 seconds till the guy is dead is what's wrong with multiplayer gaming. Probably why I couldn't get into the Quake 4 multiplayer.
Um, if you have to shoot another player for 30 seconds before he dies, you must have really terrible aim.

To me the Fear demo multiplayer has been the best deathmatch ever. So I'm looking forward to this, it should rock !
making maps in doom2 and kicking your friends butts in them; and quake 2 CTF are the next best multiplayer ever imho. Jedi Knight II is pretty damn good too.

I own FEAR, so I can review this for you.
Standard weapons, effects, maps, everything. If you like DeathMatch, here it is.
Kung Fu. The *ONLY* way to really play this game is by not using weapons at all. Then the game is fun. Kicking people & knocking them out with your fists, nothing else comes close. In every game I played, I was at or near the top. Never used a weapon.
THey're giving it away free? It must be good...

I thought the MP in this would have been better if every weapon couldn't kill you in two seconds. I think the quake style of shoot for 30 seconds till the guy is dead is what's wrong with multiplayer gaming. Probably why I couldn't get into the Quake 4 multiplayer.
