The news is reporting that our area is due to be hit this week by the heat wave that's been cooking the west coast. This is not great news, as our weather was already, as the line from Biloxi Blues put it, "Africa hot."

WS_FTP for the win!

Thanks for the FTP suggestions, guys! I agree that WS_FTP would probably be the best bet overall (and the Pro version is already being used by some folks around work), but I have to say that - sad as it is - the install for the LE version would confound the people for whom this question was being asked.. Same with FileZilla, I'm afraid.


FTP Wanderer and PW FTP turned out to be exactly what I'm after in this case. They're both utterly foolproof to setup, with very simple and intuitive UIs. They're very similar, actually, but I think I prefer Wanderer just a bit more because it has a nice little 'folder history' down one side of the window that makes browsing back to other directories a one-click affair.

OTOH, PW FTP has the advantage of having clients for Windows, OSX, OS9, and Linux, which is handy. Both are worth a look, FWIW.
