Out of the Blue

An informed looking forum post yesterday convinced us it was worth a try brining the chickens before grilling them, so they've been soaking overnight, and we'll give them a shot today.

tell your neighbour to get bird feeders that squirrels can't get to or at least cut down on how much food they put out. if they completely stop you won't have squirrels and skunks etc flocking to your yard.

33. Oklahoma BBQ Jul 4, 2006, 02:12 BiggFigg

Oh, man, oh, man!! Only sex is better than our BBQ today. The brisket was so tender it melted in your mouth. The bark had a TON of flavor and it was juicy from top to bottom. We did learn that for our rig, fat side up on the brisket is better. The juices drain through the meat making it even juicier. The brine we used also gave a very rich flavor throughout the meat.

The ribs were killer too. We cooked for about 6 hours and the meat fell off dry bones. One slab we basted with honey at the end for a sweet finish. Oh so good.

BTW, our favorite rub/spice mix is Head Country. Our favorite store-bought sauce is Little Pig. You can't go wrong with either.

Well, Blue? How did your chickens turn out? Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks for the welcomes, all!

I almoswt picked that up, is it worth it? or really just meh?

Well, the reviews were good, so I can only assume it was the sidescrolling 2-d gameplace I didn't care for...

Which makes no sense, as I liked NuSMB.

Based on your posts, I picked one up, and have been playing the new Super Mario game. OMG it's a blast. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm stuck visiting the in-laws, and I just put my headphones on and play away......

But yeah, NuSMB is a blast. The only thing I wish they would have added was the original SMB, recoded in the new engine. That would have been an awesome bonus...

If these traps don't work though, I am returning them and using the money to buy a really nice rifled pellet gun.

Stately Wayne Manor has a squirrel problem? (I think it's a plot by the Joker to drive you insane, personally) There's nothing on your utility belt or in the Batcave that can take care of the problem? What kind of Dark Knight are you???

Oh yeah, the Lite is awesome. It's has all the features the original has and even manages to improve on some other. The battery life is an obvious one, but I'm pretty sure they've improved the touch screen too as mine's not even scratched yet.

Need to pick NuSMB, though. I keep hearing that's a pretty good game.

24. Re: PC Woes... Jul 3, 2006, 20:07 Enahs

Make sure that not only are you selecting the “do not seek floppy drive at startup” option but that it’s port is not set to auto ( a set to off, these are typically in completely different menus in the bios, the one I am referring too is typically with the harddrive config area), and also make sure somehow your boot sequence did not get reordered and floppy is first, etc etc.

Sounds more the MB got reset. With it being 3 years old it is possible the battery on the MB went dead and in a power loss or when you turned it off everything got reset to defaults.

But MB’s do unfortunately go bad. If all else fails put a damn floppy in it to get you buy (cheaply) for a while until you are ready for the upgrade!

23. PC Woes... Jul 3, 2006, 19:25 Halsy

Hey all...

I'm having a problem with my main PC where I'm getting a Floppy Disk 40 error at boot up - and I don't even have a floppy drive - and when I bypass the error and the PC starts the boot sequence, right after the screen you see where the IRQs are assigned the PC reboots itself.

So, I'm thinking this is a problem with the I/O port on the mainboard itself and if it is, does this mean it's given up the ghost and time for me to finally get rid of this machine (I won't be replacing anything for this PC as it's 3 years old and I was going to get a new rig in August anyway). Could it possible be something else and/or is there a workaround?

I had a final today and am finally done (for a whole week, whoopie).

Nah, not me. I'm tired and need a break. Besides, I haven't been back to visit my home state in a few years. So I figure I'll pull out this next Monday and drive to AZ, take me about two days coming from Indianapolis.

Speaking of which, where the hell is everyone today?
I took the day off, but I have class tonight.

Spending time with families?

As I posted this morning (in Sundays OotB though) I had a final today and am finally done (for a whole week, whoopie).

I asked the teacher to let me take it Friday (which was the last day of class) after the normal class period (which we where already having a test). He said no because it was going to be a really really long test and he did not want to wait for me after class Friday.

Just to show him off, I finished the test in less than 15 minutes…..the bastard!

Yeah, ask nin all about it. He's been practically creaming himself since they announced this.

I was going to pick up Liberty City Stories

Pick it up for the PS2, if you're going to to buy it. You can go through the used and new section of Amazon and get it for like $15, IIRC.

It's a fun game, though like you said, it was a shame they didn't really improve it all that much for the PS2 hardware from what I've heard too.

Wish they would make them for PS2 first, then for PSP.
Don't understand why they would drop the quality like that for PS2.
