Out of the Blue

Last week our village planted a new tree in front of our house (it takes a village to raise a tree?). This was a pretty elaborate process, involving several men and a backhoe to transplant this 15 foot tall sapling (too bad the Smurfs missed the beauty of nature in action), I'm guessing this would cost an awful lot of money to get a nursery to do this. The weird thing is that this is on the same strip of earth as our existing tree, which is fairly large and mature. We think we figured this out yesterday in chatting with our neighbors, however, as they had a tree removed by the village recently, so we think this new one may have been a replacement that was planted in front of the wrong house.

Time to feed someone to the pigs.

I heard it only takes about ten minutes for a group of pigs to full consume a fully grown man of average weight, bone and all. Not sure about diamonds though.

Finally popping in The Usual Suspects since my livelihood and health are apparently at stake.

[edit]

What I said above and that fact I don't want to be the highest object of Enahs' intense hatred.

I read that and bellowed "Shit!" Time to locate this movie pronto!

The last movie I saw in a theater was The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, I find it rather humorous that my life is such that going to the movies involves intense planning and execution.

I talk a big talk though, in fact my movie tagline will be, “O, man, I am so going to see that when it comes out.”

PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY MORE LINKS TO STUPIDVIDEOS.COM.

The site is poor in quality, it makes you watch advertisements, and half the time it doesn't even display the video that was linked to.

edit: Actually, it's O Fortuna, isn't it?

From the wiki BD linked too.

The music of Carmina Burana, particularly the famous "O Fortuna" movement, appears in several movies and commercials and has been covered and sampled by many bands, including the following examples:

And goes on to list many examples.
See Carmina Burana in Pop Culture section.

It's called "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmina_Burana_%28Orff%29 for more than you ever wanted to know ....

Dammit, I should have known a banddirector would beat me to it!

I was going to recommend Apoptygma Berzerk's album 7, that had it sampled in a song, but apparently it's been reissued w/o the sample, due to licensing issues...

edit: Actually, it's O Fortuna, isn't it?

I only agree with the fast pass if it is free.

"Forever it has been my dream to have my very own theme park, so that I could be alone in it, all day, every day. I love theme parks. But the lines! Everywhere you go, people, crowds... the rides are great, but... all the lines, lines, LINES! If there's one thing I hate, all the lines, lines, lines, LINES!! And then there get to be so many people that they make FastPass. So then there's lines for FastPass. You stand in line to get a ticket to stand in line later. Then there's lines for the bathrooms, lines for the drinks, lines for cantakuras and rare Kartankulas Plinks!... And, so you see, this park is for me. Nobody else will be allowed in it." - Cartman

Straczinsky and Zabel finally posted their rejected Star Trek sequel on their blog site (scroll about a quarter of the way down):

http://bztv.typepad.com/newsviews/2006/06/spaced_out_star.html

Haven't read it all but I like it. Except for what they wanted to do with the Prime Directive. They shouldn't oughta be messing with that.
