I actually have a sealed Aladdin unit and sealed versions of all the games I found on eBay for like $40 from some guy who didn't know what he had.

That's cool! What are they worth? So I take it the game had to be written to take advantage of the extra horsepower?

Not surprising. I'd never heard of them either until I was looking at an NES rarity listing one day when I was a collector. I'm getting ready to sell my collection so I hope it'll net me something good. Nintendo actually sued Camerica for releasing the unlicensed stuff and they lost.

The game was actually released for the Aladdin Deck Enhancer, a completely unlicensed accessory that was put out jointly by Camerica and Codemasters. It was an expansion unit you put into the NES and it had about six games which came on special cartridges that you put into the Aladdin unit. It was supposed to add more memory to the NES and add co-processing capabilities. Unfortunately, Micro Machines was the only game released for it that was any good. the Aladdin and its games are considered among the rarest possible NES accessories since so few of them were made.

Wow...never heard of those...

I remember playing this on the NES.. it had this weird funky cartridge.. like a gold cartridge that looked nothing like any other NES game.

I'll probably give this demo a shot. I'm itchin' for a new Re-Volt type game.
