And yes, I knew all of what you said…it was just a chance to tell a joke. I did not even bother to mention to him that I have not said how much I hate you guys in over a month.

That has not happened in forever. I think either one of them is smoking a lot more weed, or a lot less!
Apart from a few staunch political differences we have a lot in common on certain things. We're just extremely passionate about our points of view where we differ.
Even when we have our fights we still know it's just about those specific things, and I think we've learned enough about each other over the years that we really don't need to yell at each other anymore. Quite frankly, I'd love to meet Warhawk and have some steaks and beers. I may not agree with everything he has to say - and vice versa - but I respect the man.
Hell, we both agree that The Right Stuff is one of the best goddamed films ever made.

Has anybody been able to get System Shock 2 to work in WinXP with a Geforce 6800?
I remember finally getting it to run under W2K on an older machine. I did use the updated texture pack, this is what fixed it for me:

Create a file called user.cfg in your System
Shock 2 folder, or if the file is already
present, open it for editing.
Anywhere in the file enter the text:
safe_texture_manager
on a line of it's own. Save the file and run
System Shock 2, your problem should be solved.
I also remember having a problem with running the ingame cutscene movies after trying every possible codec. I don't think I resolved it and disabled them somehow. Good luck.

What a fiasco! Either that or they're intentionally using this as a way to get beta-testers for their PlayLinc client, and maybe users after the tournament. Even the patch for HL2DM from Valve is kind of half-baked in that only easy fixes are made and even some new bugs introduced.
Matches were originally scheduled to start 10AM CST on the 15th, then they were put off 24 hours, and now the whole thing has been postponed until Monday. Kind of embarrasing, actually! |

Has anybody been able to get System Shock 2 to work in WinXP with a Geforce 6800?
I did. I remember the only problem being that SS2 has a problem with multiple processors, either dual core or in say the P4 with hyperthreading flavor. I had to turn off hyperthreading so that I was only displaying one processor and it worked....but I don't remember how I did that. I also don't remember what else I did to make it work. Eh....maybe that'll help ya some. /shrug
Edit: Oh yeah, that's running a pathetic Radeon 9800 Pro. Don't laugh, I'm just waiting until Conroe launches to upgrade.....
Edit 2: Wow. I didn't realize being this wound up would appear in how I typed that out, but it did. Too bad, you'll have to manage.

Tomorrow morning me and the Mrs. are headed off to Florida for the bacchanalia that is DisneyWorld. And I'm such a 'net junkie that I'll be bringing my laptop with me so I can surf BluesNews and get my daily fix of Enah's hate, nin's reports from the van, Warhawk vs. Halsy, etc.
If there's a hurricane while I'm down there I'll do my best to report from the front lines ....
Have a safe one! And I'm pretty sure they don't allow alcohol in the park, so be sure and bring your own!

Well, just a skilled physician I guess. Took him like under 10 sec to finish the job. Looked like a staple-gun. No anasthesia though - what's the point of three (painful) shots and waiting for them to take effect when all there is is some quick stapling anyway?
Whoops. From the way I had read the situation originally, I was under the impression that he fell off the computer chair and happened to fall on staples, which somehow miraculously(?) were only three in number and aligned almost perfectly...
Just goes to show that Friday + lack of caffeine = huh?
