Valve announces that Half-Life 2: Episode One is now available via
Steam: Valve Launches First of an Episodic Trilogy
Bellevue, WA, June 1, 2006 - Valve®, developer of the blockbuster series
Half-Life® and Counter-Strike™, announced Half-Life® 2: Episode One is now
available via Steamgames.com for just $19.95 and at retail outlets around the
world.
The first in a trilogy of episodic games, Episode One reveals the aftermath of
Half-Life 2 and launches a journey beyond City 17. Episode One does not require
Half-Life 2 to play and also includes a first look at Episode Two, which will
ship by year's end.
In addition to the new single player experience, two multiplayer games are
included. And those who purchase Episode One will have free access via Steam (www.steamgames.com)
to Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, the interactive technology demo that introduces High
Dynamic Range lighting to the SourceTM Engine, Valve's award-winning game
technology.

Seriously, for a good laugh, just turn it on and watch the intro - you will bust a nut laughing, Gabe literally says, that commentary, "Allows developers to release these games quicker.."
WTF!? Are you serious!? Quicker than late?
And for god sakes Gabe, your e-mail is gaben@valvesoftware.com dude, do you realize that when you repeated it out loud it sounds like (and looks like) gay ben? *sigh*
Anyway, I only played for 30 minutes, didn't get far, cause although the commentary is cool, they don't really do it correctly. As you are playing, you can click on little bubbles, and it will explain something about the game in that area, BUT although you can't be hurt, YOU ALSO CAN'T HEAR WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON BECAUSE THE GAME DOESN'T PAUSE IT JUST KEEPS GOING. So as someone is telling you something along the plot line or a story, you have gabe or some other idiot explaining why alyx's tits shine.
Anyway. For a good laugh, please watch the intro with commentary on. I am now going to turn it off so I can play the game, and maybe turn it back on when I am done.
