GSC Game World (thanks Frans) has details on plans for open beta testing of Heroes of Annihilated Empires, their upcoming RTS game:

Hi everyone!
Good news here. We're about to launch a public Beta of the game, a version to give you an idea of HoAE gameplay experience. Why? We need your feedback on the game, bugs, ideas, suggestions etc, as we want to make the game as suitable to your tastes as possible. Moreover, there's still room for improvements, so we're very upbeat about this launch! So as you are, hopefully! April 25 check out we will put the version on-line for free download, so get ready and standbye to play, it's coming :)

You can adjust game preferences in Options submenu. Select the screen resolution, set shadows and animation quality to desired level. Mind that changing the game options will influence on in-game fps performance. Use HeroesOfAE.exe to run the beta. Having launched the game, you can immediately start playing by clicking on PLAY button. You will face the game world. Let this hot-keys list aid you in the fabulous, yet awe-inspiring world of the game. Did anyone see the trailer that was released for this game, I think it looked pretty awesome. Well i guess we have to wait and see how well the game turns out to be.
