If I'm not mistaken, the Better Bodies mod for Morrowind took EXTENSIVE help from Bethesda because the model format was not public?
The model format was available as 3d stuido plugins for exporting to morrowind.

I call bullshit as I had no issues importing models into other havok games, eg farcry and half-life 2.
