I've been a little surprised why ppl are getting so bent out of shape about this being offered. I don't particularly like horse armor enough to pay for it but I think it's nice to have the option. I think they are making a mistake by offering something as trivial as this all by itself.
I think it would have been better received if they had offereed several new types of armor for the players as well or something more substantial, mabye lances to attack with from your horse.
Most Xbox 360 games has silly little things to download like gamer pictures and themes that are usually pretty pathetic, I don't see this as any different.
Although coming from a PC with the ability to make my own little icon pictures and themes, it's more than a little frustrating to be locked into using their stuff which all costs money.
But if we could upload and use our own content and own stuff I think we all know what would happen... Naked this, porn that, I have a XXX gamer pic, aren't I cool.
PC gamers won't swallow this 360 crap... Steam seems to be successful. They don't sell things as small and cheap but it's definitely very similar. Hell EA is heading that way like a runaway train with BF2. The mod community jumped all over BF2 like it was a free meal ticket only to realize slowly that EA had taken steps to make sure that the main benefactors of their game would be EA. Mods are very unlikely to take hold of BF2 like they did BF1942 because most players want to play on ranked servers and use those extra guns and track their stats. Desert Combat basically pulled the rug out from under the EA home grown expansion packs. I bought the first one but once DC came out I never looked back.
PC ppl won't put up with that hunh? Please. What do you think booster packs are? What do you think Day of Defeat is? Wake up man, just because it's a computer game doesn't mean it's not just a lame excuse to squeeze money from you.
