The oldest FPU in my collection is an AM9512DC from 1979. Made by ... AMD! They should have stuck with it. It's a similar story to Nvidias first chip which was capable of curved surfaces and sound, now they're putting sound back on-chip to enable HDCP which combines sound and video in an encrypted stream. How long until they do curved surfaces in hardware again, I wonder?

----- I'm not even angry. I'm being so sincere right now, even though you broke my heart and killed me. |
